I'm trying to find the best place to score some Alpine on tap Saturday night after EBF. Not many of the beer bars seem to have online menus except Publick but not sure how current that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Row 34 had Duet and Sunset had Hoppy Bday as of Saturday. Supposedly more isn't coming until September though so not sure whether you'll be able to find any next weekend.
Probably a bit out of your way depending on where you're staying, but Mystic Station in Malden (easily accessible via the MBTA) was pouring Duet as of yesterday afternoon. They also have 32 rotating taps there. Hugh O'Neill's on the same street does really good stuff with craft beer as well (had MBC Lunch and Bourbon County Barleywine on tap last week).
I might check it out. Gonna hit Row 34 after the afternoon EBF and then was looking for another place to go, preferably with Alpine. I'll be on the MBTA, thanks!
The Untappd app is a good resource if you are looking for a specific tap once you get into town. Just use the "Find It" button on the beer page. Both the South End and the Davis Sq Five Horses Taverns have regularly updated tap lists on their websites and both list Alpine Duet currently on tap. Rebones has a regularly updated tap list and has had at leat 3 Alpine kegs over the past couple of weeks but I don't see any now. Christopher's in Porter Sq might be another place to check.
On a related note, I notice that a few (too few) local bars are starting to update more regularly on Beer Menus. Brewers Fork in Charlestown listed Alpine's Duet on its list, but that was more than a week ago so who knows if it's still there. https://www.beermenus.com/places https://www.beermenus.com/places/20117-brewers-fork
So I've tried several Alpine brews the last couple of weeks and can honestly say they were very dissaponting to me. I guess my expectations were to high. They can't touch the New England breweries.
We really are spoiled. I traded for 2 bottles of Expo a while back. I thought it was excellent, but considering the cost of the beer I traded + shipping, I probally would have been happier woth 4 bottles of Trillium. But still tasty stuff. Looking forward to trying Duet, Nelson, etc. around town when I see it.
Had the Duet at a Row 34 and it was decent but nothing special. Just seemed like another above average IPA.
I felt this way at EBF this weekend. The line for Surly was out of control. I tried Abrasive and was underwhelmed. Such is the nature of hype. I wont even mention the Treehouse line.
