Alpine Brewing Thread

If all you want is Nelson, you can get that at GF. A friend brought a growler to a tasting two weeks ago and we all agreed it was one of the better * batches.

 

I meant is it worth the drive to green flash, from la jolla...

Any idea on when we might see Keene idea again? Sorry if this has been covered recently.

 

Whenever Shawn feels like it. I also agree that it has been quite some time since the last time it was put on.

 

Last batch of Keene Idea was January and it was the best since B1. Hopefully next batch stays at that level.

 

I know it's been mentioned, but Bad Boy bombers officially go on sale next Sunday. From their Facebook account:

Up next in our bottle release series is Bad Boy, our Imperial IPA clockin' in at 9.0% ABV. It's available in 22oz bottles, True Gentlemen Jerky, will be there, and the first 90 people get a rad Bad Boy button. Until then grab a freshly brewed Pure Hoppiness at the tasting room. Does anyone have a sense whether this is a brewery-only release or if it will make its way into distribution like Hop Boxed recently did? I've long wanted to try this so just trying to get a sense for how much ammo I'm going to need for a trade!

 

HopBoxed that was in bottles ended up being GF brewed. To my knowledge this is Alpine brewed so likely brewery only.

Went to GF last night and filled some growler of Nelson, IMO best batch since GF took over Nelson brewing responsibilities.

Singled Out Southern Cross, and Hop Box also on tap. i was under the impression that the Singled Out series were brewed at original at ABC. I guess not since both were on tap at GF. Feel free to chime in, if im wrong on this.

 

Grabbed some Bad Boy bottles last night (6 max). Nice to see the old bottling line up and running. What I thought was interesting is that they had 50% off bottles of Duet, Pure Hoppiness and Willy Nilly. I've never seen that before.

 

Hmmm... so when it says alpine brewed and is in alpine bottles, it's still no alpine.

Regardless, Hop Boxed was really quite tasty!

This was brewed and bottled at Alpine, its the real thing. I picked up 6 bottles@ $ 12 ea, absolutely amazing batch. Never thought I'd see this bottled.

$12? Growlers used to be around $18...

 

Damn you reaper. I wanted to hear it was no good . So I am not kicking myself for not being able to make it down there.

 

$12 a bottle. No growler fills

 

Or drink good wine for the same $ per ounce as some of these IPAs and BBA stouts.
