Is it possible to get bottles of Nelson anywhere?

 

Where are you? I see it often in North County at grocery stores and liquor stores.

 

Sorry, left out the pertinent part. North Park, San Diego.

 

How's the Not Nelson?

 

It's juicy and I remember it being great.

 

First batch was decent to me, but nothing you have to try.

 

Heard the opposite.

 

I hear sounds of bottles clicking around while being filled....

 

Everybody has their opinion. I thought it was good, just not something that you have to try.

 

Heard today that one of their "new beers" called Unboxed is actually the old Hop Boxed, which you know, was bottled many months ago. Green Flash apparently didn't like the name (see hotbox - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hotbox) and made them change it. Still delicious but scary to see how little say Alpine has.

Welp. Heard that from one employee and now from another that Alpine got a cease and desist letter from a brewery who already has Hop Box.

 

Tastes better under the "Unboxed" name, I didn't really enjoy Hop Box out of the bottle. Joseph James Brewing has a Hop Box as well, must have been them.

 

Looked at the Webcam today, they have pallet wrecker on tap... but on the alpine side. Did they brew a batch in alpine? Anyone try it? How's it compare to the green flash version?

 

Good catch. Yes they did.

 

In SD yesterday on biz. Had a little time to kill so thought I would drive up the hill for the first time in 5 months. Rewarded with these. The OG Alpine brewed and bottled Pure Hoppiness bottles.
Damn, this stuff is so good, just reminds me of how great that little place used to be before the GF merger. This batch is as good as ever.

Has Nelson been available at all recently? Just moved to north county and definitely plan on getting out there sometime in the near future.

I did see a keg of nelson at keg n bottle up for grabs,the guy at the counter didn't know how long it was there for

 

No, but they are brewing Not Nelson on occasion which is really good.
