I would imagine there should be bottles in the pub by tomorrow, but don't quote me on that, I was pretty high on poutein and Duet when I was told about their Nelson situation.

 

I was there 2 weekends ago enjoying good. I asked and they said Great was in barrels and would be ready in 9-12 months

 

This was an exchange posted on Facebook today:

They didn't come out and say it, but it sounds like Nelson will be available Tuesday. I'd wait for Wednesday to be safe, and to get some yummy wings!

How often do they sell Chez?

What I was getting at is wondering if they do their special releases a certain time of year like RR beers or they just drop it whenever they feel like it?

 

The latter, but it isn't feel. Just when it's ready.

 

Chez Monieux has been released twice - 2008 and 2012. They also released bottles of Briscoe in 2008 and some Chez Monmee on draft in 2010.

 

I ask like I have the time to make the 2-ish hour drive from L.A. to pick up some Nelson.

I don't.

You know, I thought Monieux had been out once before. Was 2008 as awful as 2012?

No, the 2008 batch was fine. Not amazing by any means, it was almost entirely lacking in funk and not a traditional take on the style, but it was a solid beer.

 

Right.. I hope they can keep it though, no matter how nice the new space is the pub will always be special to me. cozy.

 

See you have an excuse, I am 35minutes away and have only ever been once, and I bitch about not getting Nelson at times. Sense-making....this does not.

is the tap list on their website regularly updated? just want to plan my haul accordingly.

 

I'm in South Orange County, (Dana Point), and it takes me about an hour and 15 minutes to get down to Alpine. I make the trip about once every 2 months. Also hit up Societe on the way back. Get enough beer to last me about 2 weeks.
