That hasn't been updated in a while. However, I would still suspect Waypoint gets GF Alpine rather than Alpine Alpine since virtually of the kegs floating around right now are from GF.

Interesting. All I know was this tasted like a completely different beer from the ones I've had in the past.

yep, my friends outside of CA are trying it now and all have told me "what's the big deal?". definitely gonna hurt their rep, but doesn't seem like they are too concerned.

Had Naughty Girl and Expo both @ Brewbies this weekend and both were awesome IMHO.

I was in Tucson AZ over the weekend and had Hoppy Birthday at Tap & Bottle. Great beer joint. HB was good. Just not Alpine great. Especially after 3 days of drinking AZ beers. Dragoon IPA is AZs best IPA. This place also had Capt Stout and Alpine Ale on.

Funny you say that, because I had a friend that was there and said the Alpine stuff he was drinking tasted great.

Might be the Tucson thing, though. LOL

You are telling me that someone that works at alpine "shared their disgust" with you about THEIR beer tasting not so great now that it is brewed at GF?

They'd do that just to play up to the customer. LOL

I was at Tap & Bottle Saturday night before a concert around the corner. Don't get me wrong, HB tasted good. Better than 99 1/2% of AZ beers. But it just wasn't the HB I use to have back in the days at Alpine. I also had it at BW less than a year ago and even then it wasn't on par. For those who never had it or any Alpine beers before (over a year+ ago) then you probably wouldn't be able to tell. For the first timers yeah this is delicious.
But while there I was able to pick up a sixer of Left Coast Nitro Milk Stout, HopSlam and Founder's Centennial IPA (which I liked the least-probably because it was 3 months old and sitting on the shelf at BevMo. Damn bevmo. Never again.
For those venturing into Tucson you have some good choices these days. Tap & Bottle(huge cooler filled with hundreds of bottles), HUB restaurant & creamery (outstanding house made ice cream), Taproom at Hotel Congress (best happy hour prices at $3 pints for all drafts), Playground(next to HUB), World of Beers, Thunder Canyon Brewery (lots of guest beers to chose from) and many more in the same walking distance. I'll be back next year.

Is anyone aware of blind tastings on alpine vs. GF versions of classic Alpine beers such as Nelson, Duet, Pure Hoppiness, etc.? If not it would be a worthwhile project.

Talking about Tuscon and didn't mention Dragoon? Their beers are outstanding.

Just reported on facebook, Green Flash is now filling Alpine growlers (obviously with just Alpine beer).

My bad. I did have Dragoon Ipa 2 days. Happy hour at the Taproom at Hotel Congress, $3 pints. So plenty of glasses. AZ best.

So I picked up a growler of Nelson tonight from GF. I noticed a slight difference in color and it didn't feel as crisp. That aside, it was still delicious and we all enjoyed it. If you're worried about the quality just go try it and form your own opinion. Cheers

It was about $16. I'm not sure about the glass as I already had an Alpine growler.
