If you see Nelson, buy it, as much as you can. It is a limit 3 at the brewery per person, per day. Buddy of mine brought his wife the other day when we went just so he could buy double. She hates beer.

Sadly my better half was at work and decided that working > muling bottles of beer for me. Like...really....wtf.....

Man, you should totally dump her. What kind of significant other doesn't mule for you? That's like, not being faithful.

Does she not know those vows were binding contracts to mule for you?

That is just it, not married at all...just continually living in sin w/ a dog that I do believe I love more than her. =P

She also didn't mule any extra Veritas 014 for me, making it tougher to send those bottles around the states when you only have 3 to your name.

Picked up 9 bottles last week, they asked me if the beers are for me to drink. I said yeah

All 9 bottles have the bar code scratched up. I don't care if it is scratched up, I hope they don't blacklist me one day.

I buy about twice a month, just the IPAs.

weird. Everytime I go I buy as much as I can, never been asked. One time I actually walked out with 20+ bottles of IPAs because my friends I came with didn't want all the beers. The guy at the brewery just told me the buy em.. so I went home with 15 bottles of delicious delicious Nelson (as well as my 3/3 of Pure hop/duet), they didn't scratch out anything. Pretty much encouraging me to buy it.. they even asked if I wanted to put it all on my card.

Drank Nelson like a champ for two weeks. Shared it with everyone I could. Now my friends are equally huge Alpine fans. Devious plan indeed selling me all 15 btls

So.... Public House in La Jolla just tapped Hoppy Birthday, EAH tapping it soon as well.

I was going to go to Alpine this weekend, but no reason now that they are out of Nelson bottles (and Duet). I might have to check out one of those two now.

They still have Good, Ichabod, Hoppy Birthday and Keene Idea on tap. Worth it as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed, unless the drive isn't worth it. For me drive to Alpine is 30+min, drive to EAH is less than half (when speeding) for basically the same payoff.

But I do agree, a visit to Alpine is almost always worth it, especially on sundays.....with poutein.

Definitely! I need bottles though to convince a SF buddy to drive to SARA and get me a bottle of West Ashley though. No bottles = no bueno for me.

They invented these magical things called "growlers" you could get too.

I really don't see the sense in shipping growlers. There's so much wasted money in buying the growler and added shipping cost. Add that the risk of a growler surviving shipment over a bottle is pretty large, and I think shipping growlers verges on stupid.

I scratched up my own bar codes. I still didn't win the lotto. :slight_frown:

I prefer shipping bottles too but shipping cost is actually going to be more efficient with a growler than bottles. There's going to be more glass weight in 3 bottles of beer than in 1 growler for roughly the same volume of liquid. Growlers are pretty sturdy as long as you get the cap real tight and tape it up.

If it hasn't already been hooked up, there is a fresh keg of Hoppy Birthday at Common Theory.

I had the most recent batch of GF Hoppy Birthday at Panama 66 yesterday. It was an okay batch, but definitely the darkest I've ever seen it:
