Kinda sucks to hear it'll be GF but going to give a shot anyways, last time ill likely ever head to alpine anyway. Crossing fingers they have more then one keg of Keene Idea to get a growler but I doubt it.

Why bother going up to Alpine if they dont' have anything special like KI or other one offs. Might as well not go to Green Flash like I usually do .

Yeah I live in Va beach not too far from what will eventually be GF East and the Alpine GF bottles are everywhere out here.

Ps Also I'm definitely 1:1 ISO of a port Black Tuesday for a GF Duet.

Just popped a bottle of the new Hoppy Birthday and damn... I don't know how anyone could be disappointed in this. Aroma and flavor are on point, and it passes the hop burp test. Best by date is March 16th, hopefully we keep getting them this fresh.

Got a bunch of HB/Nelson bottles at Beercraft in Rhonert Park yesterday while on crawl in bay area. Was happily surprised by the GF bottled Nelson -- it was exceptional. Hoping they start shipping bottles to New England -- I'm kinda growing tired of the the whole NE IPA thing....

I want to go on record saying that the Green Flash brewed and bottled Nelson with best by date of 3/21/16 is the best batch of Nelson of any type that I've had in a long, long time. I hope this isn't a fluke and they can consistently do this, because this is top notch stuff and reminiscent of the best batches to come out of Alpine.

I as well picked up some Nelson bottles from the Alpine brewery this weekend that are in the Green Flash bottles. I must say too this is the best GF batch to date. The taste was really great. Aroma can be a bit stronger, and the turbidity is still a bit different than previous Alpine bottles (color is a bit different, but could be due to turbidity), but I would not hesitate to buy these bottles again and would recommend others go try this batch if they have been upset about Nelson as well. Good job GF (and Alpine), you've come a really long way with this even over the past few months, keep it up.

By the way, the bottles were better than the draft pour at the pub (which I can only assume came from GF as well when comparing to Alpine Nelson bottles from a couple weeks ago, but I'm not 100% sure).

Looking forward to trying the GF Duet and HB bottles now as well.

EDIT: And I should point out, this is coming from someone who has been REALLY against this GF/Alpine deal in terms of beer quality.

I really really really want Green Flash to nail Alpine beers so I can get them without having to drive down to Alpine

So, what will they be brewing at Alpine now? More stuff like Keene Idea/Bad Boy and the BA/Sour stuff?

I just got a pint of hoppy birthday on tap in the Bay Area and it is "Soapy Birthday". F that noise - that is the most g awful beer I've had in months. And I *liked* Hoppy Birthday before.

Well, in the good days it was a pale ale, maybe now you just don't like "session IPA's"

In all seriousness though, that is dissapointing... it has been good on tap at the pub in Alpine (as of a couple weeks ago).

We must have been drinking different beers. It was weak IMO. And WTF is up with a 6 month shelf life on hoppy beers? Be better, Alpine...er Green Flash.

It's easier to let stuff sit on the shelves that way with dishonest sell by dates and people will be duped into buying it come feb 2016 when they see the sell by date is a month away

Yes the best Green Flash bottled but the weakest of Alpine which is no more. RIP Alpine. What a Keane Idea it was to mark up the price of Nelson bottles and shrink the size of all their bottles.

It's sounds like the bottled GF Alpine is getting better reviews than the draft versions, so I'm curious to try them, BUT it's still disappointing to hear that GF bottles are being sold at the Alpine brewery. It looks like the bottle prices changed a bit too.
I'm glad I still have an original Nelson & Duet in the fridge from a few weeks ago...
