They've been having "bottling line issues" for months now.

If they can't fix the bottling line, maybe GF can scrounge up a few lost barrels of Sleepin' with Shaggy and release them as Greater.

    From their FB page..

"You see this Turkey? He is one Bad Boy!! Wait, did we just say Bad Boy? Two consecutive batches? Really?!?!? Who would do that? We would! In spirit of Thanksgiving we are filling two 64 ounce or four 32 ounce growlers of this 9.25% golden elixir on Tuesday and Wednesday! Gobble gobble!"

The advantage of freed up tank space is that we get more and more of these special releases without the usual shit show and mule brigade, and they last a bit longer these days.

    Cheers…..

Man, prices up again for bottles of Nelson. $7 now.....I think someone with OCD just rounded all the prices to an even number.

He is just moving up to GF doing the social media and events thing and continuing to be that guy at all of the alpine tap takeovers.

With all the shenanigans going on I had had enough, I was on my way to Mattress Discounters tonight, but I thought, no I'll take a detour before I go and head to Alpine to get some Bad Boy....and while I'm there I'll have some HFS and Pub Cat. Good thing I did, because man were those good. After filling up on those and getting a growler of Bad Boy, I said F*ck it, I don't need no stupid bed.

I did just try a Nelson with a 420 expiration date.....the last batch was great and a massive step in the right direction. Now it seems like they took a few steps back??? Anyone else notice a huge difference between the March and April expiration batches?

had bad boy on tap at iron pig last night..not sure if it's the tap lines, batch variation, or my imagination, but this batch seemed way different than the last one that came out for beer week. The last batch had huge resiny melon notes, this one was more a prototypical dank west coast dipa. Still good, but not quite as unique to me.

I live on East Coast, but have had Nelson numerous times when visiting California and through trades with friends. Nelson has hit the East Coast. This version is not even close to the Nelson Alpine used to brew. Even worse it is $9.99 for a bottle. Pure Hoppiness is $20 for a 6 pack. Never thought I would see the day that Alpine would be in New York and turn into shelf turds.

Green Flash has ruined Alpine. Or maybe Pat did, but the GF/Alpine beers hitting East Coast are not good.

We've been saying that for a year in half now. Ever since the first kegs of Alpines beers been hitting the pubs/restaurants here in SoCal. Even when the bottles started hitting the shops. But…it has gotten better. Nelson is the better of the 3. Just picked up my first GF Duet today. It was on sale at WFs for 6 & change from 8. Not expecting much. @jrnyc you got OH can releases every 2 weeks. OH is killing it over there. I've been trading almost every release. Just got my Simcoe and Hop Shower cans in 2 days ago. And you got Baby Green and AGE tomorrow. So I know you are enjoying OH stuff. Forget about GF/ABC crap.

Glad you are getting OH stuff! Been going there since the day they opened when there were only 4 or 5 people standing around the tap room before they hit big. Have you had Singlecut? I am drinking a Mo Shuggie right now, love this stuff.

PS. I have a great friend in San Diego who has had all of the great beersin the country, he used to be a huge Alpine fan. Sent him some AGE, said it was one of the best beers he has ever had!

I had my first OH (GD) on tap at Coopers Craft last year in June. Went to Newark for 1 day training and hit Manhattan the night before in search of this stuff from OH. Wow! Thought it was as good if not better than most of our west coast ipa's here. Hooked up with a trading buddy since they starting releasing cans. Will be flying out soon for a can release to bring some OH goodness back home. And to check out the brewery.

Iron Pig flushes their lines for EVERY keg change. What you experienced was the reality of the Green Flashification of Alpine. And it's not gonna end well.
