Thanks guys. I did not realize about the webcam. Looks like I will be trying Hop Boxed, HFS, Pure Hoppiness and Bad Boy. Will keep a watch on it though.

Edit....Thanks Reaper. I am not on Facebook. That Singled Out sounds good too.

These beers (minus Pure Hoppiness IMO) are well worth the trip. If you have a blank growler, take it with you as they fill them now and the prices are pretty good.

I always wondered if anyone ever actually said this.

So I have heard the stuff being sold at their brewery is still brewed by them and not GF. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

As has been said multiple times in this thread, Nelson, Duet, Pure Hop, Hoppy Bday are all GF brewed. Regardless of where you find the draft/bottles.

Gonna agree with ^. Bought a bottle of Duet over the weeken and drank it on Monday. Wasn't bad.

At least they are keeping some part of the Alpine feel still alive.

I'm still not going to pay $7.99-10.99 for a Hoppy Birthday or Duet.

When I stumble across a Nelson at $7.99 I'll buy one every once in a while but have passed on it more. I buy it to bring back memories of what was my favorite beer. I'd give GF a solid B for their latest version but to me there now better IPAs in San Diego. I use to make the 2 hour round trip to Alpine to load up on Nelson.

Duet was 7.99 at WFs minus 20% over the weekend. So $6+change. Even at 7.99 is not all that bad. The old original Duet bottles were 5.79 at the old brewery/tasting room. Back in the day when it wiuldvshowvup here and there, the price was between 7-8 per bottle for Duet and Nelson. So I don't think 7.99 is a bad price considering you don't have to drive 2 hours south to Alpine. Gas would cost between $20-30 RT. I drive to Alpine 4 times a year for the last 6 years to pick up bottles and growler fills. And a sit down meal at the pub. A nice road trip indeed.
Okay maybe it's still not the same recipes but this last GF Duet bottle was good.

$9 is a really good price, not my favorite of the Alpine offerings but a very good price point.

Certainly much more worth it than purchasing the new larger format bottles or 6-packs of Pure Hoppiness for ~$20+

Damn. With the news that duet is tasting closer and a $9 price point. Think I will need to grab some.

6 packs of Hoppy Birthday for a $9 sounds like a steal to me.

Got a 6-pack of Duet last night (and Hoppy Birthday for my wife). The smell was close to the original, the taste was far from the original. Still good value for $9 though, just don't expect it to be the old Duet.

I am no expert on Alpine since I just visited two days ago for the first time. But what a lineup of great IPA's! Subtle usage of hops but so much flavor. Singled Out was excellent. Worth the trip! However, I did not love the Duet. I have only had the GF version before. This seemed like a different beer to my taste.
