Naw, I argued for the possibility that Pat's manipulating the supply of bottles. And I'm not a fanboy--I'm pretty critical about a lot of their lame business practices. I will, however, go to great lengths to obtain Nelson!

Tony's does have regular sausages. their food is not that bad actually. it's not like Alpine's food is anything to write home about. though i agree that the atmosphere is more charming at Alpine

Fanboy checking in. I drink a lot of Nelson (understatement of the year) and was concerned about the Green Flash involvement. The Green Flash batches are slightly different but definitely fantastic. I still prefer stuff from the home base, but seeing Nelson all over town tasting like it does makes this fanboy extremely happy. Given the slight shift direction between the two Nelsons, I am super excited to see what happens with Duet and HB for that matter.

Pat, Val, Shawn, Danielle, Steve, and the whole Alpine Crew have always been good to me. They're good people who brew good beer.

Nelson on tap at Slater's 50/50 in Anaheim Hills. $7 for a pint.

Just put down 4 full pints at $3 a piece for half off happy hour at Ciros Pizza.
    Keg is kicked, btw.

Nelson pints 4 bucks a pint today at the GF tasting room, both regular and the aforementioned cask Nelson with Cuties. Alpine Pat was there. The cask was tasty, interesting, but the clementine flavors were over the top.

I enjoy the drive to Alpine personally. With a hybrid, the gas isn't too bad and coming home with 6 bottles and 2 growlers full of Nelson (plus Duet and Pure Hoppiness) between my wife and I is also nice. That area east of El Cajon is really beautiful IMO. Worth it to me to avoid being overcharged and get to enjoy them at home with the wife and friends.

I don't think anybody in San Diego is overcharging for Nelson; all these reports are coming from regions quite a bit north.

I haven't seen anyone in SD overcharge, though Toronado's new standard IPA pricing of $6.50 is making me grumble a bit. I feel like it wasn't that long ago that they raised the price to $6.

Meanwhile in Sacramento.....just had a glass at Pangea. Really good stuff, I believe it was 6$ for a 10 oz but Pangea has never been the cheapest place.

Had a pint at Capitol Beer and another at Final Gravity: both under $6 so fair prices up here in the 916 as far as I know. I didn't make it to the Boneshaker's opening (or even if it had outside beers) but I would assume it was in line.

Maybe a certain pizza place near Dizkneeyland should get on board.

Taproom in Pacific Beach was charging $8 a pint. That's the highest I've seen.

I vacation every summer in Hermosa Beach. Is Nelson showing up anywhere regularly in Hermosa, Manhattan or Redondo Beach ? If so, will make our vacation that much better!

It is unlikely this will be a regular thing - they won't be producing that much more. If your vacation is time correctly, you'll catch a batch of Nelson, but it may be Duet or Hoppy Birthday instead.

I always hit Mediterrano in Hermosa to get my annual fill of PTE, getting PTE and one of those Alpine beers at the same time this summer would be awesome. I know it is commonplace for the SoCal people, but for an east coaster it would be fantastic!

    Alpine is commonplace? LOL

Maybe for San Diegans that haven't been fooled into thinking that it is difficult to drive up to Alpine, or for those that hang out at bars that often had it on tap, but before the Green Flash contract it was pretty much impossible for even most of the local bars to get their hands on Alpine kegs. And bottles? No way...

I mean Californians getting their hands on Alpine and PTE, a lot easier for you to get it then me 3000 miles away !
