As in, you won't start seeing bottles all over town and no they aren't distributing through NorCal and back.

I had Nelson at City Tavern's happy hour today. It tasted like as if it was kegged just this week which is to say it was pretty great. I look forward to seeing more Alpine on tap throughout LA.

I wish Alpine was distributed by someone else. No one should run around for the beer that they like.

This is great news except for the fact that Nelson is by far my least favorite hoppy beer from Alpine. No likey the rye...

Nelson is popping up everywhere in LA. OC may see some here and there. Would like to try some and see if there are any differences between ABC's Nelson to GF brewing ABC Nelson.
So is ABC selling out to GF?

It doesn't even taste like a rye ipa. I don't care for rye ipa's too. But Nelson is my favorite ipa right along side Citra.

Yeah, I mean I only taste a teeny bit of rye, so it's probably that and a combo of the hops and malt used for it. Just doesn't do much for me. Oh well...more for everybody else.

I didn't even realize Nelson was a rye ipa until my 3rd or 4th bottle. I think the Nelson hops overwhelm the rye. One time I was drinking out of the glass outside and as it warmed up I could taste the rye coming through. Draft and bottles is delicious. IMO.

No one HAS to run around the for the beer that they like. Also, up until this week Alpine was almost NEVER found outside the immediate SD/Alpine area. The fact that there's a distribution channel at all now is a great thing.

Yeah, I think somebody missed the point of the thread.

One can not distribute what does not exist.

A little homework will get you some Nelson in OC.

Just saw on the fb that Ale Arsenal will have Nelson soon as well, and it'll be at your favorite San Jose spot(s) soon!

It seems that Nelson, Duet and Hoppy Birthday are the three kegs that will be in distribution for the moment. They may do some other beers at some point, which would be excellent. Had a tasty glass of Nelson at City Beer yesterday and wished I had time to stay for more.

I'm curious to how this batch will taste compared to the Nelson brewed at ABC.

It's pretty easy to do this in San Diego now, not side by side of course.

I won't be the one to claim that the Green Flash brewed Alpine is worse than the original. The only bottle of Nelson I have had was probably past its prime, but it was not great. The draft of GF-brewed Nelson I had yesterday was fantastic.
