While having lunch yesterday at Alpine I found on the drinks menu a combo of Duet and Pure Hoppiness they call Du-Hop. They say they pour quite a bit of it and it's a favorite growler fill. Since I stocked up on bottles and growlers I am giving this a shot this weekend. Has anyone done this before ? Sounds like it would be delicious.

    Cheers.....

I had it at the brewery once and liked it. They have a few other blends like that on the menu also. I haven't tried them all.

There's a brewery up here that blends their centennial with their amber and call it goat nut. I dont really like either beer alone, but combined it is pretty decent.
Duet and Pure probably complement each other nicely.

I poured a half Hoptimum, half black butte, and was amazed out how well it turned out. Kicked me in the balls and slapped my face, and I thanked it.

When I was at Alpine a few weeks ago, guy ahead of me got a growler that was a blend of Captain's Stout, Willy Vanilly, Duet and Nelson. It made me think he was a dumbass.

Nothing like ticking four beers at once.

i'm always tempted to try "bad decision" but i think it'll live up to its name.

Well to each his own, but obviously there are blends that really work that are listed and named on their beer menu. I'm going to do the Du-Hop this weekend.

    Cheers.....

I personally like Nelson on a base of Nelson topped off with Nelson.

Make that two of us ! Four bottles and two growlers worth as a matter of fact !! Funny when I was at Alpine on Wednesday having lunch, Nelson was by far the most pulled of em all and they had all the big boys on tap, it really is their signature brew.

    Cheers.....

I don't even have to ask my local friends anymore what they want their growlers filled with when I head down to Alpine. The answer is always "Nelson," even when Bad Boy, Hoppy Birthday, Expo., etc. may be on.

Oh I know you're going to hate me for this, but I actually enjoy Willy Vanilly mixed with Pure Hop...

    Sorry :slight_frown:

I personally like Duet on a base of Duet topped off with Duet - with a sidecar of Duet.

I am currently enjoying my first Du-Hop. The combination of the two create a tasty IPA, you get a bit mote floral notes from the Duet then a punch of hops from the Pure, but somehow it all balances out to create a really nice combo, however I believe I enjoy them individually better, fun experiment though....and tasty.

    Cheers......

I'm wore out on Nelson. Bad Boy all day the limited times it's up, then Duet. Pure Hoppiness does nothing for me.
