Alpine Fall 2013 updates

Are the Expo bottles old or a new batch? If old, why are they selling old beer when Pat has said it's risky to age Alpine beers? If new, why wouldn't the release it to everyone while it's fresh?

 

Last night they had expo, chez (two ways), great, and odin's on.

Nelson was hours old and I thought it was very special.

 

While it's not my bag, expo does hold up better than other beers. Not a new batch.

Okay, on the one hand, I appreciate stuff like this, on the other, why do people post stuff like this? I guess I'm just a selfish bastard. More simply, it's not you, it's me.

 

Surprised it stayed off the boards as long as it did.

Go there this morning at 1105 am I was the 7th person in line was surprised how few people were there. I wasn't sure if I was going till I woke up this morning , I live about 2.5hr drive so the worst that could have happened was getting a couple of Nelson growlers and tasting what was on draft at the pub. I got my limit of special releases and had an awesome lunch in the pub afterwards. Expo on draft was amazing as always., had a pour of chez monus and great as well. Best decision I've made all week!

 

Is this going to run through Saturday? I already had plans to be there around opening Sat morning but that would be incentive to get there on time.

 

per FB post at the brewery wed-thur. you would probably have to get there at 10am sat to have a shot at bottles

 

I was in a group of 3 and had the day off. Got there around 1120 and we were 10th in line or so. We got the last of the Chez Monus and Expo. We got damn lucky. They had Chez Monus, Odins Raven, Expo, fresh Nelson, Great, Ichabod plus the regulars on draft. Needless to say it doesn't get any better than that! The Nelson was unreal. Bottled on Monday and it has the best rye aroma yet but then I've never had it that fresh before. Chez Monus blew while we were there but apparently they are having another keg on Saturday. Oops sorry I wasn't supposed to say that...

Please allow me to continue living in a fantasy land where I'm the only one who knows about special releases. I'm deluded and I like it.

 

Chez Monus is ridiculously good. In the past week or so I've had Fou Foune (fresh & 1 year old), SARA West Ashley, Jester King Aurelian Lure, and SitR w/ Peaches and it might have been the best of the lot. Well, maybe not. Fresh Fou Foune is pretty incredible. I'd put it above those other domestic ones though. Now for Persica's release in a few days...

 

Gah it was YOU! I was right behind you haha glad I got Chez last week at least. Can't complain about one more bottle of great.

 

Now I def know where I'm going Sat. night after day 1 of the conference, cheers!

 

At least you got it for 20 instead of 25....
