If the Keene Idea is being released on Thursday and I plan to go there on Friday, will there be any left for me?

Drink Alpine or go to bed.

If you get there around lunch time on Friday, the answer is probably yes. Of course no guarantees, but I remember a few weeks ago when Exponential Hoppiness was released they had some left over the day after the release, and that beer is arguably even more popular than Keene Idea.

Yeah, I'd say so. Alpine said it should last a week since they aren't filling growlers.

Yeah - they aren't going to get *that* many people streaming up there simply to have the Keene Idea in the pub. Mostly for locals and people making regular runs. Definitely should be some left on Friday at lunch.

Thanks to all. Probably a late lunch so I'm hopeful.

It will likely be available through the weekend. As for Friday, I would show up before the brewery closes to stock up bottles/growlers of Nelson, Duet, PH, etc... but, for food, wait until the weekend special to show up in the pub (usually starts being served around 5 pm) - always unique and ridiculously GREAT, especially with pints of Keene Idea. Enjoy your trip to Alpine!

Thanx for the info. But I'm only in it for the beer.

If you have empty, clean, Alpine Beer Company Growlers just sitting around, and you aren't going to use them, maybe we can arrange something. Call the Brewery 619.445.2337 x1

why isn't alpine getting new growlers? 64oz screw tops are cheap and readily available...

Yea but they are made in LA and we know how much Alpine loves LA...

I'm rolling at the growler shortage.

Especially when alpine has thrown the "we have no problems selling out of beer using our own growlers" when asked about filling generics.

Wonder what the turnaround is for ABC label approval.

Nope. That ended up working out just fine. Just a pet peeve of mine when people treat the Pacific forum as a San Diego forum. We have Alpine update threads already. What's the point of a new one? it's just going to lead to questions that were answered in the others.

    Thanks for caring though!

I don't like it when threads get to 23 pages - makes it unwieldy. If you can process that many messages at once, I salute you. This was not meant to be a new thread, but a replacement thread. And the beauty of it is that it won't be pertinent after December.

I'd love to have a San Diego only forum for this sort of chit chat, but that won't happen here, and I've not seen a suitable version of one at any other site.

I for one am happy to see the Alpine threads. I find it interesting to learn about how their releases go, what people think of new batches, etc.

On that note, I saw that they're selling used growlers now. Anyone know what they're charging for them? Are they making it clear that the growlers are used?

Stuff like selling used growlers and running out of beer all the time is part of what makes Alpine Alpine. Its part of the charm.
