In terms of quality? Like it's really good?

600 bottles I heard. I drank it in the pub and passed on waiting in line.

It was good. Best Alpine sour. Just not something I needed to wait 45 mins for.

My office-mate is eating a vinaigrette salad and now our office reeks of Chez Monieux.

I felt the same way & passed on the line as well. Nice bonus that Great was still on tap too.

    A few observations:
    - I showed up at 11:15ish and there was a line just past the restaurant.
    - From the time the brewery opened (noon) it took just over an hour and fifteen to get bottles.
    - From having gone to a number of Alpine limited bottle releases this was by far the fewest growlers I saw in line yet the line really didn't go any quicker.
    - The draft pour I had ($2/oz or 6oz for $10. Same for Great until it kicked at around 1pm) had a descent carb.
    - The draft pours that were not the "full" 6oz were first poured into a small taster glass they had with measurements marked on it. Not sure how much this might have effected the carbonation. Again, this is just the draft version.
    - Aroma was outstanding white peach and apricot. Taste was also very fruit forward which I appreciate in a sour such as this. Obviously both will mellow so I'm not sure how much "better" this will get sitting in your closet.
    - This is the best sour I've had from Alpine. Ned and Ichabod (2009) being the runners up.
    - Already sending one bottle to a regular trading partner and drinking the other bottle this week so I've got no vested trading interest in hyping this up.

I noticed that when there were groups of people in line without growlers the line moved SIGNIFICANTLY faster. When a group of people went in with growlers the line froze.

I showed up at 11:45 and got out of there with 2 bottles at 1:30. They could have:
    1) eliminated growler fills during the release period
    2) had a separate line for the idiots getting growlers filled
    3) had one person continuously swiping credit cards as bottles were ordered
    4) eliminated growler fills during the release period

So someone makes a trip up to get bottles and decides to fill some growlers while there.
Since when does getting growlers filled an idiotic thing?

PS I did not fill any growlers when I went

    Counter argument:
    1) Only sell bottles to people that are also filling used growlers.
    2) Fuck all the special release only MFers.

After an hour in line my mule got two of the last 7 bottles. Also filled a growler for me at the same time :stuck_out_tongue: Sold out by the time my mule walked out.

Most of the people filling growlers were doing so precisely because they seldom make trips to Alpine, so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make - if any.
