Pizza Port swapped out a Karl Strauss growler I had several years ago. This was long before the whole growler re-evaluation thing came out.

Hey! I came up with that name!
Maybe it's just coincidence.. and not that hard to predict... but still! Please send Alpine brews as royalty!

Did you ever stop and think that the people with the growlers had a list about you and your rare bottle fandom. Or maybe that if you are so passionate to stand in line for over an hour for two bottles of beer that you should have just enjoyed the journey as much as the destination. Or just stopped at your local BevMo and bought a case of Love Child número 3.

No, I didn't. But thanks for asking.

BTW, I didn't see anyone there just for growler fills. Everybody there was buying bottles, and also getting growlers filled.

came here expecting to find overwhelming praise for how amazing Chez Monus is, given the young rAvg score of 4.87, but am actually now conflicted that some completely passed on buying bottles after trying it on draft

was hoping this thread would hammer home the pending safari I was about to go on in the ISO:FT forum but it actually did the opposite

guess I'll have to wait for some out of state reviews/hads as the perfect score fives are flowing freely on this guy

San Diego has become Williamsport, Pennsylvania, circa 2009. Ugh.

Nobody I talked to about it thought it was *that* good. Maybe a lot of people simply don't submit reviews any more.

Did I like it? Sure. Did it make me want to stand in line no matter how long it took, as the Great did? No. Had there not been a placeholder in line for me, I probably wouldn't have gotten in the back on that line. But admittedly, I do not have a very sophisticated palate when it comes to sours. I like them, but I have a difficult time drawing a distinction between good and very good.

I'm going again today. Gonna ride my bike, sit down for a nice meal, and watch my Sox. May even comment on how utterly horrible everything is there. A friend might join me, or I'll bump into somebody I haven't seen since High School. At least that's how I Alpine.

I was kinda bummed that the Chez was gone for the dinner crowd. The pub side wasn't particularly happy with the brewery side. I guess they're kinda being ****'s for this one. They should have held a keg over for after the brewery closed, or put one on later in the evening to get ready for today when they put another one on at noon today. I'm sure that keg will blow before I get there...again. That's my only gripe on the whole situation.

The fact that they ran out of it on tap but are still selling bottles encourages me though. Not everyone wants to stand in a long line for bottles of beer when right on the other side of the wall, its pouring. So at least plenty of people got to drink it. That's probably why they brewed it.

What the hell is an rAvg? Pass the Nelson please.

I had a tiny bit at Toro and that's what convinced me to take a long lunch and go stand in line for bottles. I loved it. I also hated myself a lot for standing in that line haha. What have I become?

Yeah, sort of makes one wonder why they didn't go out there today? Well, I guess you don't get to try it on tap, but meh...
