Alpine Fall 2013 updates

Was there yesterday from like 1230-245ish. Zoo in the beginning but died down. In the future, coming in the afternoon seems like the best bet. Avoid the crowd, still get the beer. I was a couple hours early, lesson learned. But hard to complain, Alpine is a special place, even when crowded. A pitcher of Nelson with friends will make sure of that.

In regards to the sour. .. it was really good. Not otherworldly (For reference my favorite sour ever is Compunction by RR) Worth waiting an hour??? I guess it comes down to how much you value your time in relation to picking up a rare, really good (but not crazy must have) beer. In the end, I got 2 bottles. One for a friend one for Thanksgiving.

Also, to be fair, it was my choice to head back to work and not pop in to the brewpub for a pour. Got a few pours of it last night when it was completely dead. Perfect way to end a day after a long chilly ride in the mountains. Kinda makes me wanna go write a yelp review about it.

 

Monus is pretty good. Good job Alpine, getting better!

Any info if any Chez remains... bottles or draft at pub?

 

I think bottles have been out since Wednesday. I'd check in Alpine's Facebook page to see if it's still on draft.

 

I had low expectations, but Chez Monus was quite solid. Also, Great is...great.

 

Great is still on tap from the keg they put on for Chez day 2. Basically impossible to avoid that nightcap. Haven't had Chez out of the bottle yet, but my draft pours were good great monus (?). Darn chezm those kegs went so fast. Delicious. You could probably spend 10-15 minutes getting drunk on the nose of those two beers.

Yeah I'm a homer so what!

 

Oh and Ichabod is on its way too!

I enjoyed it for the small taste. Something makes me wonder if the spices will meld a little in a few weeks or month. Last year's...wasn't for me.

There are some VERY special beers on Draught in our Pub right now, too..."

Anyone know what the "special" beers are?
