I wasn't able to get it in Texas but i had a friend pick me up a bottle. Its a really smooth IPA and im excited to finally try a collaborative brew between these two incredible breweries. What do you guys think about Handshake IPA?

It was a pretty solid IPA, but nothing jumped out to me as being special. But again, it was a pretty good beer. I don't think I would buy a bomber again, but if I saw it on a tap list at a bar or restaurant, I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

Solid but nothing special. Kind of pricey too.

Like the other two mentioned, nothing special. If you have a chance I would recommend trying keene idea or bad boy, which in my opinion are alpine's best ipa's.

Only natural they would collaborate. Brewed at GF I suppose

yeah its so tough getting Alpine in TX. we dont get too many drops of package and kegs. i've really enjoyed Pure Hoppiness a lot. i know we have also gotten Duet, Nelson, Hoppy Birthday and Captain Stout.

It's a natural collaboration because Alpine beer is now brewed at Green Flash given their somewhat recent "partnership". Those pure hop, nelson, and hoppy bday bottles you're drinking are brewed at GF.

I thought it was pretty good for sure.

I though this beer was pretty good, although nothing too special. But when it warmed it became damn good! Over priced for sure though.

I'm going to agree with everyone else. Good, not great. I've been lucky enough to try everything, or almost everything, from Alpine that has found its way to NC and this is at the bottom of the list. I don't want to say the "worst" because i think that paints the wrong picture or imply thats its bad, which it is not.

Had it on draft the other night and enjoyed it, wouldn't seek it out in a single bottle but will order it on tap if I see it

I had this at Blueprint in San Francisco and although a decent IPA , it was completely unremarkable.

Is there two versions of this beer? I've had it in Alpine packaging but also seen it in GF packaging. The one I had was too sweet on the front and too bitter on the back. Not a fan at any price point but especially not at $8/bomber.

It's a solid brew. I had it last night. I thought it kinda tasted like a light version of the Green Flash Imperial.

Green Flash and Alpine still have their own separate breweries and brewers.

I liked it but I wonder about quality control at GF. In the past few months I have had good bottles of Nelson and sub-par bottles of Nelson. Pure Hoppiness was under carbonated and I now have a 6pack of Hoppy Birthday which is not as good as bombers I've had of Hoppy Birthday in the past.

I have not bought this Handshake IPA because it is 9.99 a bomber which is ridiculous.

To respond to the OP, I picked up a growler, and it is smooth and I like the hop presence. Not overpriced.
