I haven't had them here yet but I'm looking forward to picking some up. I had a bunch of Alpine stuff while in SD, also via trade that I thought was great.

    What's pricing like (especially bottles)?

Not sure what to expect for the pricing on the bottles but pine box was doing 12 oz pours for $6ish...

I really enjoyed them when I visited the brewery last summer. Thought Bad Boy was one of the best DIPAs I had ever had...the single IPAs and pale ales were all really good IMO. All three that I had at Pine Box (Nelson, Hoppy Birthday, and Duet) were good but tasted more piney than my wife or I remembered. Definitely the most piney beers I have ever had...still very good but i do enjoy piney beers and they were almost too piney for me.

If he had a picture of the inside of my fridge I wouldn't be all that surprised. Except that he actually got past the security gate and guard dogs of course.
Too much math for me, but I assume this means a bomber would be about $8—top of my range for an IPA.

This is why I never post anything to the NW forum. All threads spiral downhill way to fast for me.
Seriously though I'm curious to try alpines (through GF) stuff again. When I had an authentic Nelson a couple of months ago it was delicious. I'd like to try it again.

I happened to stop in to Collins Pub Thursday night and they had Hoppy Birthday and a Mosaic IPA (at least that's what the server said). The Hoppy Birthday was awesome.

If i am remembering correctly i THINK the pricing at the brewery was around $8 for a bomber...not sure how that converts when factoring in GF producing and getting it distributed up here...my guess is the pricing will be pretty similar so your $8 guess is what my guess would be...

Maybe the Mosaic was Duet? I think the only IPAs they have in WA right now are Nelson and Duet...duet is a similar color to Hoppy birthday whereas Nelson is hazy and almost looks more like a hef than it does an IPA...

Could have been. I didn't have it because I didn't have time, but I do love the Duet. The server wasn't sure what beer it was and it wasn't on the chalk board yet.

Yeah agree. I lived down in SD for a time and really enjoyed Alpine beers. Nelson is hit or miss for me, hoppy birthday does all the right things for me, and duet is fairly average. Keene Idea is one of the best DIPAs I've every had.

I haven't had any Alpine beers brewed at the GF facility, but looking forward to trying to tell a difference.

Alpine is already in OR. Can't speak for PDX, but I know that Eugene already has kegs, and a few have made their way over to Bend as well. Unfortunately, so far only the Irish Red and Stout have made it over here to Central Oregon thus far, but Nelson is supposed to become available soon.

Alpine beers will be at the So Cal Brewers Summit at Roscoe's on April 15, and the brewers are doing a "Meet the Brewers" thing along with Green Flash at BeerMongers that same day at 5:00 (details here).

(I also just added the BeerMongers event to the BA calendar.)

Certainly wasn't impressed by Hoppy Birthday. Huge LOL at the fact they call it a pale ale. Was more bitter than some DIPAs.

I thought it was good, but I did like Nelson and Duet better...definitely not as good as expected given the ratings on it.

Tried Duet at Collin's yesterday, liked it a lot more than Hoppy Birthday.
