The stuff going on in the trading forums is comical. People arguing about Kiwi trade values.. etc. Why can't everyone just accept it has no defined trade value and stop pre-trading a beer that no one has even had yet? The people ISO Kiwi Herman are just shooting themselves in the foot. If the beer obviously is not going to trade for KBBS, why do we still have clowns coming into threads saying that the OP is "miles off". If the OP is miles off, then they shouldn't get an offer. I think it's just insecurity of trade value disruption, which is fueling the ridiculous behavior in this forum once again.

I can also see the hype of this beer getting people pissed off and making them leave false reviews.

I assume a lot of limited bottle releases go something like this:

Guy doesn't plan to drink his bottles, but he rates it a 5 to keep up trade value.

Guy 2 drinks beer, rates it higher than it tastes because he wants to trade his second bottle.

Guy 3 drinks beer, rates it unbiased and fairly, may trade or not trade other bottle(s).

Guy 4 either missed out on release or is sick of seeing ridiculous trade offers for said beer, rates it really low to devalue it.

That's why you really can't trust beer ratings on here. It SHOULD hypothetically average out I guess, but people in here have too much to lose in trade value, so I assume most scenarios skew towards the first two examples I gave.

I saw that yesterday! I don't know why I bothered seaching "Kiwi Herman," probably to see if it was by chance pouring at the brewpub on Sunday. Anyways, a guy in Chicago basically gave it a 1 star and commented "meh."

Not sure what the point of all that was, but whatever...people are strange.

Did anyone notice that BPT overcharged everyone on their orders of Kiwi Herman? If you want your refund I suggest sending an e-mail to customer support. They charged everyone tax twice. Check it out:

You can send the following message (make sure you enter in your confirmation number) to [email protected]
    _____________________

BPT- You charged me tax twice for my order (Confirmation Number _________ ).The ticket price already includes tax. From the item description:
"General Price includes 1- 500 ml. bottle of Kiwi Herman @ 15.99 each, plus tax and crv."

This comes out to $17.31 (includes tax) per bottle x 2 bottles = $34.62
Plus $3.20 service fee for a total of: $37.82
    You charged me: $40.58
Please refund the extra $2.76 you overcharged me. Thank you.

Edit: if that doesn't work send a message directly to [email protected]

Update: After a few back and forths BPT replied with the following:
"Ok, I see what you mean. I am still not able to issue any refunds for this event since this producer used paypal as their processor. You will need to contact them directly as they are the only ones with access to the funds. I do have their direct contact info for you:

    Alpine Beer Company

    [email protected]

I have however put in a notice to my producer support team so they can also notify the producer of this error with hopes they go ahead and fix it for everyone."

Thx for following up -- I stared at my BPT purchase screen for some time, trying to make sense of the math, before deciding I just didn't care and would eat an extra buck or two. Would appreciate it Alpine/BPT did something to make it right.

Interesting that BPT can't do anything about it, I assume they took a cut of the amounts.

I did the same thing. I was so excited that I was able to get bottles that I just said "meh" but then I thought, wait, that isn't right - this probably happened to everyone. I sent Alpine an e-mail asking them to look into it and possibly just fix the issue for everyone who purchased bottles.

Same thing happened on BAVSS. Check that as well. Something needs to be done, I think we should reach out to Alpine who may be able to issue the refund.

Update 2: Response from Alpine directly "Your refund has been processed"
It doesn't appear that they are fixing this across the board (not sure why) so I suggest sending an e-mail to Alpine directly to get your refund.
