    Hey All,

I'm stuck in Yuma tonight, but hopefully driving through Alpine tomorrow. I will stop at the brewery to grab some bottles, but I noticed on their Facebook page they are out of Nelson bottles.

Are there any shops in the Alpine area that reliably have Nelson bottles? Might be a long shot - I know they are impossible to get almost anywhere else.

Another option might be someone in town that has some to trade. I don't have anything with me (emergency trip), but could set up something nice or obv pay.

Usually the bottle shops there (and I think there's 3 that I'm aware of in Alpine proper who carry Duet/Nelson/PH) tend to dovetail with the brewery's stock, and it's almost guaranteed that the stores will be out if the brewery's out too.

That said, they have Nelson available for growler fills, why not stock up on a few of those?

When I last went (September?) driving from AZ, I got there just as the brewery was closing. So no growlers for me.

I walked (dont bother driving; the town is tiny but be care of traffic as its easy to get hit buy a car...) to the conveneince store acrtoss the street and then the convenience store/liquor store same side of the street as the brewery further down.

They had limits but i was able to buy i think 6 Duets, 8 Nelsons and then some other less sought after stuff (Willy, Mandarin Nectar etc...) No Expo, no Pure, no Great etc...

Very helpful, thank you. I will walk over to those places and try to snag some Nelson bottles.

If all fails, I definitely will fill a growler. I just didn't want to buy a growler that I can't really use anywhere else, since I will get down to Alpine... infrequently.

I suppose I'll search around for their growler policy, but as a last resort, I have no problem buying theirs.

Pretty sure Alpine requires you to use their growler.

That's such a bummer. I don't live near a brewery, which would be my only reason to buy a growler that I can only use one place. Hopefully Firestone Walker opening in Venice will give me a good excuse. I'm new to the California growler politics - it's really annoying.

Thanks again, everyone. I found what must be the last Nelson around at one of the shops. Had a pint at the restaurant and grabbed a bunch of Duet & Pure Hoppiness. Looking forward to it all. Thursday at lunch was a really low-key time to go!
