Wow. I can't wait for this either! It's going to dominate face!!

Odell didn't like Lex Lupulin due to St. Lupulin? Interesting.

    This piques my interest.

Sounds good, although I've honestly never been a fan of New Belgium's hoppier beers. Hopefully Alpine led the way in that regard and NB's awesome QA will make it consistently awesome.

    Should be good.

Disapointed in Odell. I expect more from them

I'm also stumped by the whole Odell comment...

Since this beer is a ways off from being released I interpreted the Odell thing as they asked them if they minded the name and Odell said they'd prefer they name it something else so they respected their wishes, not like they'd already named it that and Odell threatened them. Doesnt sound like a Gordon Biersch thing in the way it went down (and also nowhere near as much of a stretch like the Gordon Biersch one, which seemed to me like a lesser known brewery trying to piggy back on the popularity of another)

Oh yeah I'm sure it went down that way. Still disappointed they took that route..

Maybe call it Lex Lupur instead. I can see Odell's view point, and am pretty sure it was one of those, "hey, would you please mind not calling it _____" dealy-bobbers.

You guys are missing the point, the name of the beer is fucking irrelevant, we're getting an IPA from Alpine...

I'm going to slice the top of mine off with a samurai sword and chug it like a gallon of milk after eating a ghost chili. Then I'm going to buy more. Damn you, New Belgium...

But why did they brew a double IPA in late June for an October release? This beer will be finished by late July at the latest. Meaning it will be 2+ months old when people actually consume it in mid-October for GABF.

I heard today that it should start trickling out the first week of August.

Stop the lies. Alpine makes some of the best West Coast IPA's if not the best. You must have had old bottles.
