Had it last night and my god was it delicious; super dank, piney, and really well-balanced.

Had it at the brewery last night and brought home six with me. What a great beer, reminds me of Pliny the younger!

They do growlers there. Not sure why they wouldn't do it for Super IPA.

So given what I heard about Denver distribution I made sure to pick up some when I drove through Ft. Collins this weekend. Its pretty fantastic and tastes like an Alpine IPA, sort of reminded me of pure hoppiness and expo. :sunglasses:

I'm not one of those "the hops are faded 23 hours after bottling" types, but this is seriously ridiculous if they're holding back a fresh IPA to wait for something else to sell out. Especially if all the other markets are getting it already.

I was at New Belgium on Saturday and they had it on tap. I was on a bike and I forgot to bring a bag to get beer to go.

Do they do 'em for the LoF beers again? I didn't try when I was last there, but for a while they would only do fills on their normal line-up. They definitely used to do fills of La Folie and Eric's 4-5 years ago, but they stopped doing it for at least a couple years.

The guy behind me in line in Fort Collins was inquiring as to a keg of Super IPA. Wasn't able to hear if he got one or not but sounded pretty sweet, lol.

They definitely fill LoF Beers, with a few exceptions of very limited ones. I filled three growlers of Kick this past fall when I was still living in Fort Collins.

Just wanted to give a little heads-up here for the Denver folk. We're doing everything we can to get Super IPA in the market as fresh and fast as possible. We've got a few cases of Lost Abbey Brett Beer to sell before our distributor will release Super IPA. Here's how it works: We have two tiers of LOF beers, Tier 1 and Tier 2. Each tier has its own UPC code. This helps with a number of things but mainly it doesn't clog the system with a ton of different UPCs throughout the year for our distributors/retailers. Most breweries do the same thing with their seasonals/rotating series. There's only two UPCs for eight different beers. In the case of Super IPA, it's the same UPC as Brett Beer. So when a sales rep orders that tier, the distributor will send the beer that is in line to go out. Super IPA just came in and is ready to go as soon as these last few cases of Brett Beer go out. We can't send Super IPA ahead of Brett Beer because that would screw up distributor rotation.

Being that Denver is our #1 market by far, we (fortunately/unfortunately) recieve the largest amounts of LOF beers. This means we get great distribution and opps to drink the beers but it can also delay the launch of the following LOF beers. Kinda hard to jugle, but it's the nature of the "rotating series" beast. Appreciate all your patience. It's totally worth it. Super IPA is increadible. It'll be just as increadible in about a week. Promise.

5.99 at the brewery? They charged me 7.50?

I understand that there is a system in place and this is "just how things work," but at the same time holding out a fresh IPA, as well-crafted as this one is just a mistake. I love New Belgium and I credit them with converting me to craft beer, so when a highly anticipated New Belgium LoF beer hits on the East Coast before it reaches it's core customers and biggest supporters, it is really disheartening to me. Maybe there needs to be some self-distribution around the Denver-area? If not, there has to be a better way, especially with the way craft beer has been heading, it is only getting more popular.

Really appreciate the update, but agree with Steve_0

    (insert 3-tier system rant)

Totally agree, dude. Trust me, it breaks my little Ranger heart to see people posting about it in NC and not in Denver. Self-distribution in Denver just isn't an option. The logistics that take place behind the scenes are hilariously confusing sometimes but at the end of the day, it's no excuse. I literally just now emailed and called some of our best distributor reps and asked them to help take care of this issue. I'll personally do everything that I can to keep this from happening again. You guys and gals are honestly the verbal soul of the industry and it's our last intention to let you down.
