It appears that Alpine will have some kegs of the latest batch on tap soon, according to an email blast.

No official news that I can find anywhere on bottles, though.

First batch was great and decently distributed in bombers (via New Belgium) for those of us who cannot get Alpine on the regular, at least not in bottles, at least not till the full merger with Green Flash is completed and bears "bottled fruit".

Yeah- this looks to be an under-the-radar re-release. Alpine hinted at it a month or so ago when they talked about going up there for a brew day. They also hinted that they'd be making more of this batch than the first.

Would be nice if this was distributed to Ohio via New Belguim

    From New Belgium:

Superheroes are pretty rad, but half the time they’re disguised as mild-mannered regular folk, proving superheroes aren’t into being super 24/7. Super IPA, on the other hand, doesn’t hide behind anything: It’s super all the time. Right now, as boozy, malty seasonal beers take over the taps, our Super IPA returns as both the hero we want and deserve. It’s bold, daring and poised to strike at any moment. So, what exactly makes Super IPA so super? Well, it didn’t get the name by being a regular old IPA. Here are some facts I’ve pieced together about the fearless IPA, bound to descend on a tap lineup near you at any moment:
    • Super IPA’s main weapon is what some call “the palate wrecker,” a specialty move that shoots 99 IBUs of high-alpha hop beams across the tongue. The weapon’s powered by a special combination of Columbus, Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial hops, and only Super IPA knows the right combination to activate it.
    • Before Super IPA activates the palate wrecker, it lulls its victims in with a heady wash of malts and a warming, 9% ABV…then BAM!, you’ve been palate wrecked.
    • Unlike Superman’s heat vision and superhuman breath, people on the receiving end of Super IPA’s palate wrecker are actually pretty down with it. Much of that has to do with the piney, grassy, citrusy afterglow the move puts on a target.
    • Super IPA’s allies come in the form of rich, robust foods like pepper crusted grilled meats and bold, tangy cheeses, which have enough power to not only stand up to the palate wrecker, but enhance it to blissful levels of tasty goodness. When those forces combine, they smite hunger, thirst, and generally dull lifestyles.
    • The recipe’s a collaboration with Alpine brewery, a little outfit outside of San Diego that excels at hoppy beers. Alpine’s beer typically doesn’t trickle out of its immediate area (I call the brewery the Fortress of Hopitude), so this release lets the rest of us taste the power of San Diego’s best-kept secret.
So keep an eye out: Super IPA’s out on draft right now, and likely to swoop down into your pint at any moment.
