So that's why it sucked... Or it's because I got an old bottle...

Even though this beer is catching flak for not being as good, I'd still love to try some. Anyone know if this is around the Mass/RI border (Attleboro most likely)?

They brewed one batch, in an effort to not go out of business while their own brewery was shut down. It's fairly obvious that Trillium would rather not contract out their brews, otherwise they'd still be doing it. Green Flash/Alpine is an entirely different situation.

I bought FB90 at the brewery with vicinity and one other beer. A little revisionist history there.

Yes, it was a very large batch, and they fortunately were able to open shortly after, so it makes sense they would sell it at the brewery. It was a desperation move, that also allowed them to gain a bit of experience on scaling to that brew size for when they move to Canton.

Alpine/Green Flash is not saying "screw it", but it has taken a year and they are still dialing things in. That being said, al ot has changed in a year, and a lot has changed since folks first tried Alpine, so maybe tastes/preferences changed and Alpine/GF are actually the same?

I wonder what new brewery with a new take on the IPA style with new juicy fruit experimental hops will be making us question Trillium quality/business practices in 5 years?

I got a bottle of Hoppy Birthday the other day at CBC Newton. Can't speak to whether or not we will get draft distro.

I got two bottles of Nelson in Virginia a few weeks ago and it was really good. The Duet I have had on tap around MA has been decent. Would like to try Hoppy Birthday. The bottles in VA were expensive, $9.39 for a 22, but I was on vacation.

Found Duet and Hoppy Birthday at Yankee in Sturbridge. Grabbed the last Duet off the shelf and there was 1 bottle of Hoppy Birthday on the shelf. The real story is that there were at least 5 bottles of Clown Shoes Breakfast Exorcism on the shelf.

Grabbed a Nelson at blanchards last night, was really impressed. Best beer I've bought from a store in a long time. Anyone know when pure hoppiness 6 packs are coming? Definitely a higher priority for me to snag one now.

is this stuff really limited? my local store tweeted that they were getting some hoppy birthday and duet tomorrow, but it's not gonna be on the shelves. "ask cashier for a bottle".

I've seen plenty of it sitting unguarded on shelves, with no apparent limit.

Has anybody seen bottles around the Merrimack valley? I'll be in Haverhill this weekend

At this point - just more stale, overpriced hoppy bombers cluttering the market here.

All 3 beers are coming in 6 packs soon I think and unless I'm misunderstanding the Green Flash dating system everything I've seen so far has been <1 month old. You're going to be right sooner than later, though - hopefully they sell well enough that the turnover is fast, but given that even local stuff tends to sit I have my doubts.

I had Nelson on tap at Redbones the other day and I thought it was pretty good, actually. I'd definitely drink it again. (On tap, at least. The super-long shelf life of the bottles kind of scares me.)

Duet is an incredibly mediocre beer. No idea why anyone would even care about it. Nelson was pretty good though.

I've been to Redbones about three times and kept seeing it on tap but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I believe I had it there in the spring when it hit MA.

I opted for Founders Backwoods Bastard instead. I didn't regret my decision, having a bottle of Backwoods now in fact. But I want to try Nelson on tap there at some point. Part of my decision is that I assume it will be there quite often.

Anyone heard an update on Pure Hoppiness 6pks hitting MA/Greater Boston?
