Thank you sir and you do as well! Love that nuanced styles like marzen are getting some love here on BA even though it's not in season yet.

As for Altoberfest, no I haven't but I noticed this is a thing...Goodfellow's nanobrewery out of Lakeville MA puts out a "wheneverfest" but at least they disclose that it's an ale. Harpoon's Octoberfest is an ale yet you really need to do some digging to find that out. Same thing with Flying Fish's OktoberFish.
Appreciate the tip. I thought/hoped they would do a good job. Most breweries that make a good lager can make a good marzenbier (generally speaking of course).
Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like a great reason to visit NC. I'd love to make a trip down there someday. If I don't perhaps we can arrange a little trade. I love these breweries that are brewing traditional lagers. Speaking of which, Von Trapp up in Vermont makes an outstanding dunkel. All of their beers are European influenced and brewed in the traditional style. I bet they make an amazing festbier

I thought Narragansett fest was retired. That beer really made me like the style. Paulaner Weisn is my absolute favorite of the style id love to find those 12pks. I bought a liter in a glass mug but the mug broke and sliced my finger. I also want to try shiners but i always see floaties in it.

How the heck did you break THAT mug?

I've seen it, but only at the actual Oktoberfest...which gets a little, um, rowdy.

I got a little too excited after chugging and slammed it on a table. It didn't shatter but the handle splintered directly into my thumb. Lol

No, not at all. I don't buy them even in season. Way too sweet and thin for my taste.

    Enjoy

They aren't a favorite style of mine, but I usually drink a few six packs a year.

I noticed a few singles of last year's Sierra Nevada collaboration at the store today. Seeing a beer left over like that hurts when you know you won't get a chance to drink it fresh ever again.

I'm craving football season, fall weather and in a very close third 'fest beers. My favorite is Revolution's Oktoberfest. I plan to also buy a lot of the Sierra Nevada collaboration this year.

From the looks of that aisle, there the entire time. That store is a minefield.
