I live in Orange County, but got a chance to visit friends in NorCal. They rave about Altamont with the caveat that they really only make hoppy beers. I must say, I was highly impressed with most of what I had. Hop Wash Maui waui Hella Hoppy Ganja Juice They were all outstanding. Surprised they haven't been mentioned here much if at all.
Maui Waui, Hella Hoppy and Ganja Juice are all good. Not a real broad distro, but I always grab them when I see them on tap.
I am seeing it more and more. Unless Tahoe mountain is on tap there is a good chance I am going to get one
Greg knows his beer. I've been enjoying it since his homebrew days. Stopping by there is a must when heading to the Bay Area.
At first I thought you were comparing them to Stella, I was going to have to "have a talk" with you. Yes, a stellar beer and I am happy you have them on tap so often.
My local watering hole usually has them on tap, had a triple IPA of theirs last beer week that was fantastic, scarcity I believe it was.
Knee Deep posted they are doing a collaboration with them for SF and Sac Beer Week. Going to be a Double Wheat IPA with Galaxy and Mosiac.
The best batches of Maui Waui are hard to beat if you like a huge juicy hop bomb with low bitterness. Ganja Juice and Hella Hoppy are no joke either.
They will fill any growler that is a 2L. They will cover up the old logo and slap on their Altamont Sticker on it. Growler prices range from $10-$13 usually, but had a new Imperial Stout that was $16. Wednesdays are $2 off on fills, so I usually go a couple Wednesdays a month and fill up. Probably one of the best things out here in Livermore. I look forward to every new batch that hits the taps, hard to beat fresh Maui Waui or Hop Arsenal which just hit the tap room this weekend.
