Altbier recipe

    So... I started the boil and found a calculator on Brewers friend and figured out how long I'd need to boil. I re checked the gravity 5 min later and my refractometer said it was 1.030. 5 min after that, it said it was 1.040 ...... WTF?! I haven't had anything to drink today. I don't know what's going on here, but I'm just going to roll with it I guess..

    The first reading before the boil was a refractometer. I was so surprised I double checked with a hydrometer.
