Am I nuts for wanting beer for Christmas?

Been asking for the same thing for years. Luckily, I usually get them too.

Ive never run into this personally but not nuts. I like gift cards because I tend to use them to get nicer stuff I wouldnt get for myself out of pocket. EI you get yourself a nice bomber of something over your usual crushers.

 

If someone asks me what I want, I always say a gift card to a store that I like. That way I can pick out what I want. I have many times asked for gift cards from craft beer places, always a fun gift!

 

I'm guessing like a lot of guys there's no present you really need or want so why not get something you'll enjoy. Being kinda new maybe one of those Beer of the Month deals would be a great present.

 

Quite the opposite. Last Christmas I was surprised with lots of various beers (maybe 5 different 6 packs and a few bombers) from my fiance. She isn't a BA, but took notes on beers I talked about or seeing beers I picked up at the bottle shop. My parents know of my habits as well and always get me various beers from their travels across California (from Pliny to 21st, and everything in between.) I think you have plenty of reason to desire beer as a gift. Not nuts, just misunderstood.

If beer is something that you want, then why would you be nuts to ask for it as a gift?

 

I want MONEY to be able to purchase the BEER I want.

 

Have to remind my family members every year. Or I'll end up with a bunch of random stuff, that I have no use for.

 

Not crazy at all. Everyone I know knows that I want beer. I get people bringing me different beers all the time. Why would Christmas be any different? I'll usually get a few gift cards to the local growler stores. Beer is the gift that keeps on giving. At least that's what I say.

 

My favorite present last year was cultures of Brett and Lacto. Now that is nuts.

 

All I wanted for Christmas was my two front teeth. I ended up looking like Chevy Chase's Fletch character in the airport scene....not really. Giving beer is always a great idea!

You mean annual ritual day? I always require beer whilst sacrificing.

My birthday is about to come and my wife has asked me several times what I want as a gift. I can only come up with 2 or 3 things, one of them is always a gift card to buy beer.

I haven't told her my options but I'm sure she will say I'm nuts for wanting money for beer as a present.

 

Six years ago I asked my Mom for some 3Floyds since I couldn't/can't get it in MN. In my stocking, I had a bottle of Dreadnaught and a 4pk of bcbs (never had or even heard of it at the time, the guy at the store said I'd like it). Popping open my first bcbs created one of the most jolly Christmas mornings ever...

 

nope, my wife and kids took me to No Labels Tamale Fest last year. And I think most of my gift cards last year were to Specs Liquor. Glad I came upon this thread, just noticed this years tamale fest is on Sunday
