Am I screwed?

I think people are are a little jittery with the rewaxing job and perception of increased bad traders out there. The key thing for me from the OP was that the box arrived 12/02 and the questionable trader has not been on the site since 12/01. This does not a yet warrant a "bad trader" status and the first concern should be his well-being. It's easy to say since I'm not the one being impacted, but I can guarantee you that would be my first inclination.

That said, unfortunately, no shipping first was requested even though it's a pretty hard to get beer and no phone number was obtained. It's best to out the trader so that others can help. I'd still insist that we approach this with an open mind.

 

99% of the time or more, it never has to do with someone suffering some unfortunate accident or health problem, just poor trading practices.

 

You could be right...but how many times does that actually happen here? Two weeks with no communication at all AFTER receiving his package does not add up

 

Exactly. Not to put myself on a pedestal but after I broke my leg last year I was pm'ing people from my hospital bed letting them know their boxes would be delayed. Then I hopped up the stairs on my one good leg and packed the boxes. It's never taken longer or required more energy to pack a f'in box but I knew it would be months before I could walk again.

Point being, it's not that hard to at least touch base with someone to let them know what's going on.

 

OP I do not see any "Pending" trades. Did you not use the trade request feature. I do not do a trade without the other person using that. Granted i have not been trading alot lately. Luekemia tends to make me not want beer. Fucking cancer.

If you did have a pending trade request it would be easier for all of us to see whoe the ptential bad trader is.

 

I try to be consistent in the approach to all of these bad trader threads and see what have transpired so far and where the benefit of the doubt should be first. Even if 99 times it's not the case, I don't want to have that 100th time when I find out the guy suffered some tragic accident after making up my mind with very little info other than time lapsed.

As I said, he SHOULD be called out so that people who may know him can provide more insights on what may have happened on his end. I'll draw my own conclusion with further information.

 

I agree with you for the most part. I'm not saying this was another wax job (lol; just sounds funny) but Im more concerned its just a straight up screw job where the guy disappears. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt as well but if I owed someone beer (especially Assassin), was in the hospital for whatever tragic reason and a bad trader thread was created after a week without me communicating I would completely understand.

If I ever recovered I'd say "Sorry man, I understand why you started the thread, I would have as well. I had Ebola, was very sick and quarantined and I'll get that Assassin out to you ASAP assuming you still want it."

I think everyone would understand and if I were OP, I'd say "man, that sucks, sorry to hear that but I'm glad you understand why I started the thread and don't worry about the beer. You've been through enough, just glad to hear your better. BTW, please post some documentation that you had Ebola, thanks." J/k kind of.

I dont understand why he hasn't been named yet... its been 10 days already. Hell.. I was in Chile for a week working from 7 am - midnight and was able to maintain communication with a few trade partners... this dude is likely scamming you, i hope not, but he likely is.

 

Please name the trader. The chances this trader is incapacitated or has been abducted by aliens is slim and none.

This is becoming comical, I'm becoming mildly obsessed yet on the verge of not caring because its like a big tease.

 

OP, knowing you have an issue and hiding it from everyone else is just as bad.
This trader may be finalizing other trades and you could have helped prevent them.
