Amazing Beer Finds

I got a case of Bells Expedition for $40.00 because it was old... I've also found Yeti in a mixed six pack section so I cleaned them out not sure if it was supposed to be in there or not but $10 for a 6 pack of Yeti is pretty sweet.

 

Nothing super crazy, but I got a 32oz crowler of Prarie Bomb! for $9.99 once. It was supposed to be $23.99, but I decided not to ask questions, just pay for my beer and walk out slowly...

 

The only way I'd drink Bell's Winter Ale ever again is if someone paid me.

 

$4.99 for 4pk of Victory Hop Ranch the other day. I didn't walk in there pick up any DIPAs, but I had to leave with a few packs. They were perhaps 2-3 months past bottling, but that's still a great deal. I mean, with my brewhouse efficiency and the price of hops these days it would probably be more expensive for me to homebrew a clone of this beer!

 

You do realize that liquor/beer/wine are banned items on Ebay? Not to say you don't see it on there, but it can get the sellers (and buyers?) suspended. The problem is that there is no reliable way to ensure the buyer is of age, and mail order liquor sales are illegal in many states.

 

11x 2012 Cantillon Gueuze 375 ml @ 3.99 per bottle at a random grocery store here in NYC.

 

Two four packs of KBS. Never seen it on the shelf before. Was amazed. Haven't seen it since.

 

Don't know when the previous poster found that Ballantine Burton Ale eBay listing, but based on the final auction price, I'd say it was in the late 1990s-early 2000s - when there was no such specific ban on beer being sold on eBay. I won auctions for several bottles of BBA in that period, paying around $20-50 each, IIRC. I don't even remember those auctions having the "Collectible bottle only - contents incidental " disclaimers, but they could have.

More recently they seem to typically go for over $100 - and they're still being auctioned as a search of "sold items" will show (Jan and Feb of this year, in fact).

 

Yeah, their enforcement is pretty lax so a lot of beer/wine/liquor auctions complete.

 

The only great find I've ever had was a random walk thru the local beer store many years ago. 7 Kbs were just sitting on the shelf. I bought them obviously, I still have 3 aging.

 

I do not know if this classifies as amazing, but at my local Kroger, I found fresh Ten Fidy at $1.67 a beer on the mix-a-six shelf.. I bought all six that were on the shelf !!!!

So I remember hanging out with 2 guys behind a gas station in Mississippi...drinking some old barleywine.

 

Does this qualify...I know it's not their most famous beer but I was at one of my places hoping Rodenbach Alexander was already released? There were several boxes of cases of Drie Fonteinen - Oude Geuze stacked up and I noticed a random bottle thrown in the top box which had 3-4 Oude Geuze in it. After 20-30 mins I rounded back around and for some reason checked to see what this bottle was and it was a Cantillon - Cuvee St Gilloise. I'd never heard of it or had it but of course I bought it. I know it's not LPK or one of their more famous beers but I'm glad I doubled back around.

 

I went to target and found a bunch of beer on clearance.I looked like an alcholic pushing around 14 six packs mostly Red Stripe and Dos Equis but my mancave is fully stocked.

 

I found Happoshu and Kvass.
