So I've drank a few large import beers tonight. They are labeled as imported. And that got me thinking that a lot of these "BMC" foreign beer companies are labelled as imported in the USA. It makes me feel like I'm not drinking a real beer from Europe if it's labeled as imported. Meaning it was meant for the USA. Anyway, are American beers labeled as "imported" in other countries?

I can't speak for every corner of the world of course but in SE Asia, Australia and the South Pacific in general, American made beer is hard to find.

In Southeast Asia you'll find Heineken, Carlsberg and even Chimay - typically advertised as "craft." (Chimay Blue tastes especially awesome in Hanoi after weeks of drinking Beer 30 on ice). Most bars only carry Tiger, Chang, Leo and whatever other formaldehyde filled junk happens to be domestic.

Australia boasts quite a selection of reputable craft breweries. You'll find Sierra Nevada and several other "mainstream" American crafts but they are often absurdly overpriced. The stock of Cantillon and 3F will probably keep you entertained though.

I don't recall seeing BMC in SE Asia, but at least in the Philippines, San Miguel is decent and really cheap.

To answer the OP, Budweiser is pretty easy to find in Japan and labeled with kanji. Europe? I'm not sure. I've seen BMC products but never cared to look at the label.
