I remember reading a Style Profile in BYO in the past year or so on American Red Ales by Jamil, where he gave his recipe for Evil Twin. Wondering if anyone knows/remembers/can help me find which issue that was? I would like to re-read that article, but I can't seem to find it. It could actually be in Zymurgy, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help.

PS, no, I'm not looking for the Late Hop Article that he wrote for Zymurgy and put on Mr. Malty.

Mr. Malty has an article about the secret for super hoppy beers (hop bursting) that has the recipe in it and details about Alesmith's Evil Dead Red (What Evil Twin was based on). I have it in pdf if you want that; don't remember the style profile article though.

Great beer BTW, although Alesmith's My Bloody Valentine is my favorite among the three (They're my 3 favorite red ales).

Thanks for the lead. I am looking for the Article on Reds more than the Evil Twin recipe. I want to re-read the Red article before I finalize my recipe. I rechecked all the BYO and Zymurgy mags I have in the garage and didn't see it.

I tend to think of red and amber as different styles, but I wouldn't say their is very broad agreement on the differences.

Yeah, when I think Amber I think Fat Tire, Full Sail, Drop Top. When I think Red, I think GF Hop Head, Ninkasi Double Red, etc.
