Anyone know of some regular bottle shares in the area? It looks like Della Viti in Ames is starting to schedule monthly bottle share events. Anything else in the area that is open to all?

There is also an "Ames Beer Enthusiasts" group on Facebook for people interested in the beer scene in Ames. The bottle shares at Della Viti have been going pretty well, but the general vibe can change a lot depending on who shows up. Out of the three shares so far, I have really enjoyed two of them. One of them suffered from too many people, which caused short pours and someone poured out about an ounce of St Lamvinus because they thought it had spoiled, which I had to laugh at (silently, in my head) to avoid crying instead. That said, there have been some pretty awesome bottles shared at each one, so it is hard to complain too much. Non-inclusive list of highlights: * Bourbon County Coffee 2011 * Bourbon County King Henry * Bourbon County Bramble Rye * Cantillon St Lamvinus * SARA Cellarman * Goose Island Christmas Ale 2009 * Tallgrass Big RICC (mostly for the novelty of it not being for sale yet, but it was delicious as well) I apologize for the bad pictures, it is pretty dark in Della Viti.
