Has Silvaticus solved the fly issue? My wife and I went last summer and flies were everywhere. We had to wave them off our glasses multiple times. Other than that our review was pretty much the same as yours. Loved the beer and the vibe.

I've sat out on the patio a few times in the past weeks & haven't noticed any flies.

It was mainly inside but you'd have noticed if it was still going on.

Doing the Amesbury circuit this afternoon & need to put a plug in for Silvaticus’ Festbier. I expected it to be good considering their handling of lagers & wasn’t disappointed. Easily one of the best I’ve had this season & would even put it up there with the big-boy Germans (with the added plus that it’s obviously much more fresh).

Also visited BareWolf & sampled a few of their Haze-bro IPAs - pretty solid.

Glad to have these 2 places close to me. Each one is a completely different experience.

I'm moving to Amesbury in a couple of weeks and am ecstatic about having both within walking distance

Had the Oktoberfest on Thursday and agree that it’s the best domestic one I’ve had and definitely stacks up with the best imports. Those guys do great stuff and their taproom on a weekday is like a modern day Cheers. So friendly.

I’m sorry. I don’t gey the Silvaticus love. On the surface, they are the brewery I should like: Belgians and German styles. That’s what I prefer. I’m an Oxbow/Allagash/Jacks guy.

The spot at Silvaticus is better but BareWolf makes much better beer (and, again, I emphasize how little interest I have in hop forward beer, so it has nothing to do with being a “the brewery must have an ipa or I’ll just die” craft beer drinker).

Each to their own I suppose, but I felt barewolf was ok, with Silvaticus being worth repeated trips from me over the last 2 months. Their Pilsner is one of the best around, the black lager fantastic, this mosaic lager they have is just wonderful.

I’m local to Amesbury, so I’ll be back, but the many beers I’ve had there have just been boring to me. The black lager, I agree, is very good. And, again, I’ll stress that Silvaticus is the brewery I should be preferring here! Nothing has wowed me so far, but there’s time. They seem to be doing well and that means I’ll return.

I'm on a self-imposed spending halt (holidays, winter time bills/necessities). I'm currently just a BA lurker, so no Silvaticus return as of yet. I've been crushing Miller High Life, though, and god damn I forgot how much a cold macro lager speaks to the soul.

Clear some space in your wallet to have their “Syntax” hoppy lager which just came on today. Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra hops - might be their best hoppy lager yet (which is saying something).

Anyone know whether Silvaticus is planning on distributing the Pils (or anything near term)?

They seem to have no plans to package in anything outside of crowlers. That doesn't eliminate the option of distribution but I've gotten answers at the brewery that weren't an actual no, but felt like a no.

I'd love it. The pils is crazy good. They quickly became one of my favorite breweries. I've been to the brewery 2x a month since June but it's a bit of hail and would love easier access. I'll take what I can get though.

I think here is the test of time for me: I've been craving a quick brewery visit and the one that keeps coming to mind is Silvaticus.

Here's the catch-22: I'd love to bring beer home from them, but (a) they don't package beyond crowlers and (b) man I think their logo stinks.
