    All,

Appreciate your time and input! I'll be in Munich, Amsterdam and Istanbul starting this weekend and have a unique question. I hope to bring back a few beers from Amsterdam to the States. I'll start in Amsterdam and have to bring the beers into Germany than into Turkey (1 day layover) and finally the States.

I'm not concerned with the Amsterdam to Munich stage as I will be within the EU (as long as I am under 110 liters). However, the Istanbul part is concerning. As far as I can tell, Beer doesn't have any regulations as per the Turkish Customs website - website mentions alcoholic drinks but then references wine and spirits. Does anyone have experience with this? I want to bring back 4-6 bottles and can split the load with 1 person.

    Thanks,

    polizei11

I have personally transported beer from multiple countries in my checked baggage to Istanbul. I've never had a problem. Shipping beer here, on the other hand, was a decidedly mixed experience.

The regulation of Turkey customs is that you can only take 2 bottles of beer (the official regulation is max. 2 x 1L drink with <20% alc.)

Anyway there is very low chance for detection at the airport. I brought more than 10 bottles several times.
