An Idea For a New Christmas Tradition

There are a couple stores around here that do that - a blank box, and wrapped bottles for each day.
NO one knows what (except the people that put it together at the store) until unwrapping each bottle.

Local shop in Fort Collins has this as a beer club for the month. every day of December you get a new beer.

Cool idea, but does not seem practical for me.

 

Or they hold aside the beers you missed. Either way, I'm not willing to spend the money to have that much beer. I've likely had many of them also. I'd rather swing by at random and look for new stuff at my own will.

 

There was a beer advent calendar at Costco, german stuff

I think I'll just have a friend go into my cellar and have them pick out 24 bottles randomly for me. This might just get me to drink some of the beers that I always look at and say 'soon', but soon never comes for. Such suspense. Much beers. So delicious. Wow.

 

The bottle shop I go to does one every year, so good idea, but its true, its expensive, you can get the 12 oz. Or the 22 oz. Version.

Sadly ill most likely not see it because no grocery stores or costco in NJ by me sells liqour. I can count on one hand those that do.

If anyone in southern NJ sees this please let me know.

 

I saw one, too. It kinda looks gimmicky. They're all from the same brewery.

 

You really must do this if that's the case. I bet you don't regret it at all, and it just might become a tradition.

 

Or i could drink the entire case of Stella on Christmas Day starting at 12am until 11:59pm. A beer an hour for 24 beers. Doesnt it process the abv in an hour anyway? Lol

I've seen the same woman a few times at the bottle shop I go to, usually picking up whatever the new limited stuff is. She said she started doing an advent calendar like this. She got a wooden wine crate, picks up bottles throughout the year and fills it up.

Would love for my wife to do this for me, but honestly she just doesn't that've the time to make it happen. She takes amazing care of our two little ones, so going to my shop is not on her list. She's not a beer drinker either so it would be a bit harder.

 

Do it! Even Jim Lahey gets one day a year to let 'er rip...Christmas!

 

Just don't pull a Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa and drink it all!
