I am sure many of you have seen various websites where they will randomly put two similar "things" against eachother, and you click which one is better. You then get shown two other "things" and select which one is better. Stats are then compiled and rankings are established.

I am thinking this is a feature that may be good for beers. For instance, you would be shown a CBS and a KTG, and would be tasked with picking which one you would either prefer, or would value more in a trade, etc... (depending on what the goal of the comparison was...).

I think it would be cool for "perceived trading value" to be ranked. The question could read, "which beer would be more "valuable" to you.

This might be a dumb idea but I just thought it would be interesting...

No idea is dumb. That being said, I do think that reviewing beers and the Top 100 list take care of "perceived value".

Nice avatar btw...too bad we seem to be hitting a skid at exactly the wrong point in the season.

I agree that reviewing beers does create the neccessary hierarchy. But reviewing beers dosen't account for rarity (or at least is shouldn't) seeing as the criteria are appearance, smell, taste, mouthfeel, and overall. For instance, PtE is rated fourth, but I'd be damned if you could find someone who would trade a KTG for a Pliny....
