From the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be an excellent poem composed by our long lost wordsmith, largadear. I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed.

Helles yeah! Munich helles, and their cousins Pils, are fine, fine beers. IPAs, stouts, etc are all well and good, but there is nothing like a clean, refreshing golden lager.

I enjoy Southern Tier Krampus ( I apologize, I'm an American beer redneck).

I'm rather disappointed. I thought there was a good possibility, with all your time in Bavaria, that you might even recognize the laborer! :grinning:

    Steeeve,

My favorite Helles beer from the SEPA breweries is Sly Fox Helles Golden Lager. You mentioned this is one of your previous posts. Unfortunately is a draft only product but it is a very tasty Helles beer. The Stoudt’s and Victory Helles beers are good as well.

If you every go to the Manayunk Brewpub they brew a tasty Helles beer as well. It is somewhat ‘mislabeled’ since it is called Bohemian Blonde but it is a genuine Helles style beer; lightly hopped with a very pleasant sweet bready malt taste.

    Cheers!

(For you hard core purists out there, not an overly big fan of the style - Krampus is about as far as I go.)

    Strong thread is strong.

I'm enjoying some Hofbrau Original at the moment. It's not my first MHL, but it's vying for 'quaffable incarnate' status. Good ish.

    That's why they make whiskey.
