I may have too much time on my hands, but I put together a fun analysis as I just hit 700 beers today. Here's the link to my analysis. Cheers!

I wish I could say that it is. I had absolutely nothing to do at work this afternoon...

The Rating By ABV graph is pretty cool.

So why do you think there's seemingly a correlation between higher ratings and ABV? (not taking price into account)

less abv = less flavor typically.

To most people, I suppose. But I prefer to judge a beer by how well it's made, regardless of abv.

Sure, but, looking at OP's graph, I see very little, if any, correlation between higher ratings and higher ABV... He's got a big, blocky cloud of 4+ ratings ranging from 5% abv over to about 11%. That to me suggests that he likes beers of a wide range of abv's and tends to rate relatively equally. That red line starts at the lowest blue dot, in the lowest abv, shoots through the blocky cloud (where a bunch of blue dots range over the line very early), and doesn't connect with anything past it in the higher abvs past 12%.

I admit I barely spent much brain power analyzing the graph, hence why my statement was flawed. I'm saving it for when college starts up again.:sunglasses:

Turned 18 in September 2010, registered for BA in December 2010? Respect.

I have a similar breakout of my Untappd checkins, cool to see how you did yours.

I wish I was not lazy enough to the point where I could actually rate all the beers I drink, I'm just too addicted to sitting down and focus on enjoying it. :grinning:

Did you manually enter the results from BA or find an easier way of doing it?

Nice number manipulation , but since I don't see any reviews I still don't know what you think about beer.

I find it interesting that 4 of your highest rated beer styles (Weizenbock, Maibock, Belgian Strong Dark Ale, and Imperial Pils) are also some of the styles that you've tried only once. Either you got lucky and found top examples in those styles, or you should learn from your experience and put all of them at the top of your shopping list so that you can more fully enjoy this craft beer culture.

    Nice job on the stats.

Agreed, like I said, my analysis is far from perfect and I threw it together pretty fast. The trendline is fun to see, but it does suggest more correlation than there is.
