LOL. He's a 'Loon hoarder! Me and my dad may have a slightly different relationship than other fathers/sons do, so please don't judge.

I was laughing more about the fact that he thought he needed to trade me for it. Bringing 2 to share at my wedding in less than 2 weeks. If he just outright asked for one, I'd give it to him, of course.

whatever. I say stupid shit all the time but at least I have the balls to admit I was wrong instead of changing my story.

I love you? I should've just kept my anecdote to myself. Sorry.

He's in New Hampshire right now, but I hugged him last week when I saw him in Florida (and we drank Sam Adams at a Red Lobster - true story) :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone care to speculate about the turnout at La Muerta Day later this year? I guess I can't happily go luckily pick up these releases a month later anymore.

    That was insane.

The dude that pulled Westy XII out of his pocket as we were waiting in line... Man. Thanks.

And thanks to Scott & the Freetail crew for all your work!

Want to give a personal shout out to all my trade partners yesterday. Lutter, mhenson42, kmello69, BgThang, (special thanks to illy0sis for inviting me to the table for sharing beers), willandperry, rainer, and starkmarvelo. Thank you, Show for the extra two bottles. The generosity will be paid in kind at the next bottle share I see you at!

Thanks a lot to Scott and the staff at Freetail. From my experience, your staff was very professional, well-trained, and got the food out in a timely manner. Lauren was my awesome waitress. I thoroughly enjoyed the Meathead pizza and crab-stuffed mushrooms.

Extra special thanks to Lutter for the Firestone shelf turds. I shared the Double Jack with my family tonight and it was great being able to have that moment with my family. I might catch flak for this, but I love that beer more than Pliny the Elder.

And if I told you via BM that I still owe you beer, I still owe you beer. You may not think it, but I have a personal sense of fairness and enjoy giving away/sharing beer than I do drinking it by myself.

I'll have some Double Jack for you when you come up to Austin to pay you back for the pizza . Hopefully there are fresher bottles by then! When're you coming up, by the way?

That probably won't be for about 3-4 weeks :slight_frown: My uncle is coming to live with us for a while until we can get him into a group care home. And since he had part of his drug-addled brain removed, he ain't exactly all there and will require 24/7 care. So hopefully the 3-4 week time frame is accurate.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that :slight_frown:. On a significantly less shitty note, I'm only going to be here until the end of May. I'll totally head up with you, though, if you'd have me!

La Muerta usually gets a higher local/non-ba turnout, so we shall see.

In austin? Where you going brah?

Yeah, in Austin. I'm moving back to Houston at the end of May to stay there for the summer before leaving for Atlanta. I'd prefer to stay in Austin, but I don't have $1500 to blow on rent when I have no official business here :slight_frown:.

To give a rough idea of how many people there were, this didn't even include the 20+ people that were behind me when I took this quick picture.

I hope after the texas bill pass allowing freetail to distribute they keep certain beers as a pub release only.

They will. It'll give people incentive to keep coming to the pub after they've put their beer in other draft accounts around San Antonio (and other cities).

I am absolutely okay with that one being draft-only. It's a rare treat even for those of us who live in SA. Yes, it has mad trading potential, but it's just beer. I think we can keep this one for ourselves.

Yes it has. La Muerta sold out every year within hours until they made 1,700 bottles of it.
