So it seems Belmont will be only pouring this just like the bourbon county. Anyone know of any places that will be getting it so one can pick up a bottle or two?

~60 cases went to all of the outside AK distro, so it's gonna be tight wherever it is. about 80 cases sold in anchorage in two days, so... good luck.

(also: you should definitely get a taste. it's realllly good.)

Anyone heard anywhere in Portland that will be getting any?

I have been told that in Oregon only Belmont Station and The Bier Stein got bottles and they both had to promise to pour them at events, not sell them to-go. No kegs for Oregon either.

They only sent 6 cases to Oregon. We were told by the distributor that the brewery didn't want bottles being sold because they didn't want them on the secondary market, so the only way they would let us have some is if we agreed to hold a "Zwanze Day" type of event and pour them at the bar.

Bailey's was supposed to get some as well.

You can probably thank some jackass up here who was selling them on Craigslist for that, if indeed that's true.

I originally heard (and this is all second or third hand) Belmont, Bailey's, and Beermongers. A couple days later, I was told just only Belmont (and The Bier Stein). I guess we'll see; as far as I know Bailey's hasn't announced anything.

Wow, if this was the case why send bottles and not a keg to a shop. Imo it's lame that they would make a place say they wouldn't sell the bottles.

Brouwers had it on tap all day long on Saturday (3 oz. pours, $5) and it was a very well-constructed brew. I can't imagine taking down an entire bottle of the stuff what with ~17% ABV, but great to try, no doubt.

They may have decided that it was more trouble than it's worth, and honestly I wouldn't blame them.

One of the reasons why I don't like pours from bottles. 5 dollars for 3 ounces! I mean I'm looking to try it but I'd rather pay 30 dollars for a bottle. Can't blame the stores I guess if they are being told they can't sell bottles. Kind of leaves a sore spot with me from the brewry since they sold it in anchorage.

    this.

I've got two bottles, and I've been wanting to open one, but haven't had anyone to come over and split it with. I had an 8oz pour at lunch in Anchorage the week of the release, and it definitely made going back to work rough.

I mean, I'll drink the whole thing if I have to....

brewery vs. distributor issues... hard to blame the brewery for decisions a distributor makes. at the same time, i'm kind of in favor of this, as it allows more people to try it.

FWIW, they're doing the same here in Seattle. Not sure who's getting bottles, but my understanding, and this was confirmed by one of the guys at Bottleworks, is that Urban Family is doing pour-only events.

So, you're willing to spend $1.18 / oz for a bottle, but $1.67 / oz on tap at a bar is unreasonable? What exactly is the draft mark-up that you're willing to stomach?

Personally I would rather buy a bottle than drink little pours from a bar. If it was only draft okay but the very purpose of bottles is to take home. IMO that is. I'm sure some don't feel that way and that's fine. And that 30 cents adds up fast :-)

Maybe, but there are plenty of folks who think the only purpose of bottles is to trade. I'm happy that the few bottles that arrived here are being made available for people to taste, not hoard and trade.
