Making a trip soon. Looking for any good info on the best brews/breweries to locate while in either city. Will only be in each for a day. Looking for sours, wilds, farmhouse, saisons, and bretts first. IPA's are ok too. Any help would be appreciated.

In Anchorage, as long as you're not there on a monday or tuesday, go to Anchorage Brewing. will hit what you want. Otherwise, there's not a ton. Maybe Resolution for some saison.

If you have only a day in each, how much information are you realistically going to even need?

Go to Anchorage in Anchorage, and Alibi Room in Vancouver. You'll love Four Winds Brewery (~30 minutes outside of Vancouver, BC). They distribute throughout the city, but a trip out to the tasting room is always nice.

Central City makes some great beers. They're located in one of Vancouver's suburbs - Richmond or Surrey, I forget which. They bottle, so you should be able to pick up their stuff without having to go to the brewery (which I think is also a distillery).

I'm presuming you are aware of Midnight Sun in Anchorage, which should definitely be on your radar.
