Kloster Andechs brews some great beer, most notably their dopplebock. In my opinion, one of the best around, even better than the highly rated Ayinger Celebrator (already readily available in the States). Andechs has not been approved for distribution in CO. I inquired through their website and S&H brands, who indicated that they are working on getting approved for distribution in CO in 2014 hopefully. Great news, and I appreciate their personal response to me...

I highly recommend most all of the Andechser imported beers - if you enjoy classic German varieties like Paulaner, Ayinger, etc, make sure to check these guys out if you find them in the bomber roomers later this year. Read up about the monastery on their website, or go visit if you're ever in Bavaria - well worth the trip off the beaten bath...guarantee you'll be talking about it for years.

This is very good news. Hopefully they're fresh, too. The stuff from Germany doesn't have a long shelf-life to begin with and often times when it finally arrives it's in questionable shape.
Anyway - the Andechs beers are all great. The doppelbock is their most famous offering, but their helles, export, heller bock, and weiss are among the best around as well.
I was there last summer and only have one bottle left so it'll be nice to get more regularly.

Where'd you see it? If they have that one (it's still a top 5 weissbier) they might have others.
