Well this looks kind of cool. I've stayed at the Edgefield, although that was a very long time ago. and Bothell's a lot closer, not too far up the LCW. Will have to head up there ... for a day, or a lifetime.

Postscript. Haven't been too wowed by McMenamins beers, but I do appreciate their dedication to preserving historic Northwest buildings. And I'm just going to presume any eating or drinking establishments on the premises will be kid-friendly.

I'm curious to see how this turns out, as it's nearly walking distance from my work, and I loved Edgefield.

While on the topic of Bothell, if any are in the area, check out Hop and Hound just off of Main St. 'downtown,' perhaps the tiniest craft beer bar you'll ever set foot in if you exclude their outdoor, covered seating. Eric and his wife are wonderful people and truly passionate about beer.

When I first saw this on Kendall's blog, I got a little nostalgic. Maybe it is because I got a birthday coming up, I dunno. I remember when McMenamins initially arrived arrived on the beer scene. Going back just a bit, I also remember a time when there was no McMenamins. Now they are all growed up. I had to check my my resources because you know how hindsight is, and after referring to my battered copy of the 'Good Beer Guide', I confirmed one thing: I have drank a lot of good beer.

And I will continue to drink good beer. Because we live in a magical place.
