Really any app that does what the title mentions is useful. Especially if it has notifications?

But does anyone know an app that you can customize to follow different websites? Kinda like Flipboard? I know there are some apps out there that do this but only the website they use like ESPN, Yahoo, etc... I'd like to be able to put any website I want in and customize it for my local breweries so I know what's coming out when without looking at every website separately.

Oh. Didn't realize it was our responsibility to cultivate beer release updates from thousands of breweries, keep them up to date, and then send notifications to everyone based on their preferences. Sorry. We'll get on it. :astonished:

Sarcasm aside, it's been requested many times. It's just not a priority and the manpower involved would be quite significant.

I pretty much only use Twitter to follow breweries. A lot of times they post things that they don't post anywhere else.

Take a look at Taphunter. It has both Android and iOS version. Unfortunately it has limited coverage of events and I did not find yet a way to get notifications.

I think something like this would need to be coordinated with the distributors, if i were to make this app i would tie into as many distributors as i could....my end user selects the distributors in their area they want to follow, the distributors update what releases are going where, and when. There must be an incentive for the DI's to do this though...and im not sure i can think of one.....

I agree with Twitter/Facebook as a great way to follow specific breweries, retailers and bars. Also, keeping up with the local forums on BA can get you great info on new items, as far as where and when they drop.

Also, a lot of local Reps have Twitter to announce tap takeovers and where items have been placed. Jeff Nelson from Stone always updates for the east coast.

That sounds like a good idea! Have you done it in the past for this purpose? I haven't seen an RSS feed button on many brewery sites.

Yeah I used to use the twitter app for about 5-7 breweries and yes there is good information on beer releases 5% Off the time is always something else and I couldn't stand my phone going off every 3 minutes lol. Now I don't use the app I just use the website but something more convenient would be cool.

Not really looking for an app that is coordinated with the brewers. But more of an app that collaborates news posted on whatever breweries websites you pick and puts it into one feed. Something like flipboard does.

That sort of is the problem though, one site might have an RSS set up for their blog, another site might have 7 social apps, of which maybe two get updated consistently. So it will always be somewhat limited.

Edgy? Hardly. Just a small dose of sarcasm (Google it). And it's always (at the very least) OK in my world, but thanks for the reassurance.

    Point: It's no small task.

I have an rss that feeds to Twitter many of the new releases. @Craft_Suds if you feel like following. However, it's about 15 posts per day. (advanced fair warning)
