Saw that on FB. Thanks. Always a line these days. Got the $, but not the time. Heading to CCB's cooler instead.

 

$$$ wise and flavor wise, AC will get my money over CCB every day, unless it is a seasonal like Zhukov or a white oak jai alai. everytiem i have been to AC, the line has been bearable.

AC is putting out some great beers at a comparable price to CCB (750 compared to 22 oz format) while many of CCB beers sit (see sugar plum, dark woods, jose marti, berry barleywine) because they have priced themselves out of the market, and CCB is not the only show in town anymore.

 

Still available if there at opening on Sat?

 

Should be plenty left. I was there last night, good crowd but nothing crazy. Left around 10 and they were stocking the fridge with another 10 cases.

 

Kong Fuzi in the coolers. There was a little line at opening. Not sure where they stand on bottles now though.

 

Hopefully bottles last into the night. Im out of town for this one I'm sending a friend to grab some bottles after work.

Assuming it's on draft, if anyone wants to give an opinion that'd be great.

 

Top two racks of cooler still mostly full with Kong Fuzi. I suspect they have more in back.

I thought Kong Fuzi was really nice. Smelled of light stonefruit, apples, lemon zest. Taste is juicy stonefruit and apple sweetness--almost cider-esque--followed by a moderate lemony sour bite. Dry lingering finish.

Nowhere near as mouth-puckeringly sour as Degarde/Cascade. Strongly reminded me of New Glarus' sours (the sours, not the non-sour fruit beers like Serendipity); kind of like Apple pie mixed with Wild Peach without the barrel oaky/winy notes. Nice body, light-moderate carb. Fairly straightforward and approachable--not a funky bret-monster--and a perfectly crushable beer at 7.6% for a sunny Florida afternoon.

It's a damn good beer. It reminded me a lot of their early peach sour ale, which is a good thing!

 

Anyone know if out made it through the Night or did they sell out?

 

Sold out last night around 7:30 according to a Facebook reply by Angry Chair.

Of note, they had bottles of The Awakening left yesterday. It's one of the best coffee stouts I've ever had.

 

Just left a bit ago and they must have refilled cooler as they had both bottles of the sour as well as awakening in cooler.

 

Anyone know what's in the cooler now?

 

I was there late Saturday afternoon and they had some Awakening.

 

Any word whats the next release? Kong fuzi and awakening were great

Pissed that I missed Kong Fuzi after trying it on tap this weekend, So far I've been a huge fan of anything fruit related the they've put out so far.

 

They should bottle the Awakening with vanilla, cocoa, and cinnamon they had on tap the other day. It was incredible.

 

Need that BA coconut barleywine. That's the real winner apparently.
