So I have attended but a few beer fests these past few years, and I will likely only be in the area for another year, so I'd like to compile a list of fests and perhaps their dates for the next fest if available. Perhaps this has been done? If not, I'll edit this post in chronological order in hopes to have this all in one place. Thanks!
Brugge Bierfest (February) Zythos (beginning of May) Borefts (end of September) Borefts After Fest (End of September) Alvinne Craft Beer (march) Leuven Innovation Fest (May 24th-25th) I think that is a good start as far as the bigger and more craft beer influenced festivals. Between the Netherlands and Belgium though, you could almost pick 2 or 3 different small festivals to go to EVERY single weekend from March to October.
This might be a very intersting link for you http://www.belgiansmaak.com/belgian-beer-festivals-2015/ And Enjoy the wolds best beerculture in our small country named " Belgium "
Thanks guys. I'm American, if you can't already tell, but Belgium has opened my eyes to what amazing beer really is. Thanks so much for the fests and links. I will look at those. But I would like to look at attending a beer fest here and there. But it appears that I cannot edit my original post?? Thanks!
Here's a list I saw on Twitter, I think updated as of April. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1p4QGVP20q4ng9nvqbdkpWkOo9CDg8dUSjsSVWpANpXo/edit?usp=sharing
With family arriving this fall, I am trying to find a fest to take them to. There is a few to choose from on Belgiansmaak, but any others I should consider? I researched the Borefts, but it's a pretty long drive for me. Anyone have experience with this: http://www.festibiere.be/
Yes, it's a small festival, focused on south-belgian beer (they're not all good unfortunately). Good atmosphere. 1 euro for a token, 1 or 2 token depending on the beer. They just started to reveal the list of brewers: Ter Dolen and Hof Ten Dormaal untill now.
It's not a beergeek festival. A lot of local people just there to taste some beer. Lot of families with kids. It's not an essential festival, but still nice. I go there because it's only 15min from my home.
Perfect! That's my bottom line...to taste new beer! Not sure if the family will be along or just a few guys...
