    hi all,

Hitting the road again in 2016 for my annual drive from Boston to eau Claire, wi. I make stops in buffalo, rozi's in Cleveland, three floyds, and perhaps a good bottle shop in Indiana along 90 - maybe in south bend. Will also hit a binnys in Chicago and make my way to heritage in msp.

Would love any seasonal or special releases to look out for that are new. New brewery refs would be great too. Refs for a good shop in Indiana with sun king or other local brews.

    Thanks in advance.

If you're heading west on 90 definitely hit up Transient in Bridgman, MI. Probably my favorite brewery open to the public within 100 miles of Chicago. It's right off 94 just north of the Indiana / Michigan border. They usually have quite a few bottles to go, cans of amazing hoppy stuff (rivals the best in the Northeast), and growler fills of one or 2 hoppy brews.

Make sure you check out their hours before making the trek, though. They're not open every day of the week.

All depends on what your favorite styles are of course. Many people like the New Glarus Brewery on your way to Eau Claire in Wi. East of Eau Claire but a few hrs is Central Waters which is killer imo but very limited hrs for the taproom. If the timing is right maybe something to do while there or on the way back.

When is your trip? That will influence what kind of seasonal stuff to look for...I assume it's soon since you mention 2016, but assume it isn't soon enough to stop by Binny's Lincoln Park tomorrow to grab BCBS.

I know Transient is mentioned, but not sure I'd stop there knowing that it's a detour. Not that I haven't enjoyed some of their beers, but I think it depends on how concerned you are about staying on a certain path and avoiding detours.

"The weather outside is frightful" or at least it is supposed to be along your route, probably beginning for you tomorrow in Ohio (if not sooner), so good luck.

And the good times will keep coming when you make it to NW WI/MN. 10 inches of snow today, highs around -7 for Sunday. Have a safe trip.

Wow safe travels! Most of southern WI is 8-10 inches of snow between today and tomorrow.

Depending on which way you come through WI, I would stop at Ale Asylum if Madison, and Lake Front if Milwaukee.

Yeah - tomorrow morning will be the worst driving. I'm cruelly keeping my eye on how cheap packers bears tickets get for Sunday. High of 3 - tough conditions, but for a $25 ticket, what the hell!
