Also wanted to let everyone know that we are doing a fundraiser at Urban Family tomorrow (Weds, 8/9) from 4-9pm. Urban Family has generously offered to donate $1 from every pint sold that night directly to our fundraising efforts and ultimate goal to #FINISHCANCER.

Sorry for the late notice - hope to see you there and if I do I will buy you your 1st beer!

Thank you for being so committed to leveraging beer for higher purposes, Charlie. If we all followed suit, just imagine the real good we might do. In the end, beer, like anything else, only matters insofar as it actually helps to make the world better.

Not that I wish to draw any extra attention to myself, but I've made a donation. I hope everyone else in this forum does, too. If you're all buying beer regularly, surely you've all got a few extra bucks to spare for the greater good. This is not guilt-shaming, but simple truth. Pony up, fellas. These dollars will be well-spent. For a change...

Hi Charlie. Can you verify that the changes made to your BIF post are accurate? The post has been pinned in the BIF forum, and I made the date changes you requested. I'm just concerned that the changes weren't already modified by another moderator, and that I might have pushed the dates out an additional two days.

    Thanks!

If I liked this post, you might take it to mean I agreed with its second part, and then submit that into evidence in our ongoing legal dispute. You know I can't do that.

(But it was nice of you to say anyway...)

My lawyers have advised me that despite your lack of liking my post the acknowledgment and smiley emoji could be enough for a very strong case that i do indeed owe you a beer

My lawyers have just initiated a lawsuit against your lawyers, on your behalf, for malpractice. They are giving you demonstrably terrible counsel and should be disbarred forthwith.

My lawyers have also advised me to inform you that I will make an additional contribution to the charity if you publicly disavow the notion that you owe me a beer, and then comply accordingly in perpetuity. They have further prepared a contract to this effect which awaits your signature.

(Whatever legal ramifications come from all of this, at least our back-and-forth is keeping the thread highly visible. Perhaps some folks will dip into their pockets and make a contribution just to shut us up. That would make their dollars doubly well-spent!)

While I am tempted to agree to your terms to increase the fundraising efforts I do not believe the end justifies the means  I do hope the back-and-forth makes more donate. Right now the odds are very, very good for anyone to has entered. I just hope it raises enough to cover the cost of the bottles and that someone local wins because there is no way the money raised will cover the cost of the bottles + shipping :slight_frown:

Well, I’d left my BA name and information out of my donation, hoping you'd take it as a sign I didn’t wish to be entered into the raffle. But after hearing this, I’d like to ask you to now throw my hat in the ring so that I actually have a chance of winning. If I do, I promise to renounce any and all bottles.

While I know that's not the kind of reaction you intended to trigger by providing this disheartening status report, it's the least I could do, should it pan out this way. I sincerely hope it does, but even more am I hoping for those 11th Hour donations to start pouring in. (Hint, hint, dear readers...)

Whatever happens, make no mistake: you should hold your head high for setting such a wonderful example. Yet again.
